Expect the Unexpected (Southeast Asia)

Headhunter warriors

Headhunter warriors give their lives to Jesus!!!

Often, our expectations, true or false, will determine our reality. All of us have expectations of the way things will be especially when outside of our routine. Often, I will tell my wife to expect the unexpected; but today, God decided to remind me of this and shatter some of my false expectations.

Many things have already happened on this trip that were better than I had expected. We were told there would be no AC and I did not expect hot water… Hence the way I started out the last post (I just did not know how to work it right). Surprisingly, we have both. I am thankful for them, but God knew they were not necessary for me.

Another thing I did not expect was the opportunity to try some new foods. Both dog and bat were served at a service I went to. Everything was so spicy that through the sweating, tears, and raging fire in my mouth, I could not taste much. I have decided that I do not like bat though because there are way too many bones and not enough meat.  Somehow, I survived.

But really, none of that really matters. What would take place after this service is beyond what I ever expected. Originally, the team I am with had prepared the way by speaking to the pastors and having them prepare homes to visit where the lost would get saved.  The Pastor I was with was not there so he did not receive these instructions. Instead, he decided for us to go out witnessing on the street. When I found this out, I immediately began praying for strength and ability. Those of you who know me could easily surmise I do not have the gift of evangelism, and mass evangelism in public is rather intimidating to me.  I had to give the situation to God and ask Him to give me grace to do something that was entirely outside my comfort zone and expectations.  I am sure I will have to do the same thing tomorrow.

All the way from the service to the first place we would go out, I was praying silently and feverishly. God gave me grace in an excited couple that gathered the people into groups and then had me come over and share. This made it a little easier, but not really more comfortable.  The picture above was the first group they had me come share with.  The intimidation factor is way up there when four people in full headhunting warrior dress are standing there with swords and skulls hanging from their waists looking at you.  God gave me the grace to go all in and all of those red warriors and a few other people around got saved.  We ended up sharing for around an hour and 19 people, that I know of, prayed to become born again.  This was far more than I expected as uncomfortable as I was going in. I praise God for His grace, strength, and boldness to share.

So, what about you? What expectations do you have that need to be broken down? The enemy will always try to put false expectations on you to hold you back from the fullness that God has. What comforts do you need to release? What fears need to be broken? What expectations need to change to come into line with what God wants? Only He can change your wrong mindsets. But, you have to be willing to step out of the boat!!! If I had said no for any reason, I would not have seen these souls enter the Kingdom. If Peter had said no, he never would have gotten out of the boat. Yes, you may fall, but Jesus will be right there with you to save you and put you back on your feet.

I invite you to ask God right now, to change your expectations to expect what was once unexpected to you. My God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask for hope for or imagine through His power working in me.” I pray that you allow that same power to work through you as you follow and obey Him!!!

Matthew 14:28-31 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Ask of Me!!! (Southeast Asia)

Without any knowledge or forethought of returning to Southeast Asia, God has prepared a way for me to return.  The location is new (and undisclosed for safety reasons) but the vision and mission is the same to respond to Jesus’ command of “Follow Me” with a resounding YES!!!

While fasting and praying for this upcoming trip, a scripture was spoken to me very clearly.

Psalm 2:8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will assuredly give You the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.’

This is the desire of The Lord for you today!!! Too often, we ask for such small mediocre things. God I need finances, take this stress from me, heal my headache… There is nothing wrong with asking these things, and I celebrate every prayer and act of faith in crying out to God.  However, if this is all we are asking for, we are aiming far lower than the Almighy God of the Universe desires or is capable of.

My God is powerful and mighty and does great things beyond what we could ever ask for, hope for, or even imagine.  It is time for all of us to come out of small thinking and small prayers and graduate into Kingdom Prayers.  I desire a grand inheritance in The Kingdom!!!

God has given me the privilege of traveling to many nations. I know most people may never have the opportunities I have been given, but how many nations have you asked for?  How many times have you poured out your heart for those in other countries to know The Lord and walk with Him? How often do you ask God to give your nation to you as an inheritance? Admittedly, I have not prayed as often or as fervently as I should, but God has given me the faith to ask for the nations as my inheritance.

Now, as I travel again, unexpectedly, and without really praying for the specific location He has prepared for me before now, God has found a willing vessel. This is what He wants. Your abilities, talents, and gifts are not important. What is important is your willingness to be filled and desire to be used for His Kingdom.

I encourage you today with this verse that has been on my heart the last month or so:

Romans 12:1 “Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies (dedicating all of yourselves, set apart) as a living sacrifice holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.”

It is time for us all, once again to worship God in the best way possible, by giving ourselves to Him just a little bit more today and letting Him do what He wants to do in and through us.

God, make us more willing and yielded vessels to You and Your will. Open our mouths to declare Your truth, may our thoughts and prayers be ever for Your Kingdom, and may our every breath be used for service in Your Kingdom anywhere You may take us, whether around the block or around the world. May we all have the faith and an abundance of grace to worship You with our whole lives!!!

Changing History

Daily Encouragement –

What have you done with your life? Who has benefitted? How have you affected history?

Most people are only concerned with surviving themselves and give little thought to others. This is never who you were designed to be. Come to Me! I am The King of kings who laid down His life willingly so that the whole world may live! My sacrifice was for far more than Me and my people. I died for all nations and all people, no matter how dejected, forgotten, or broken, that they may become part of The Kingdom!

Everyone deserves the opportunity to see and know the Truth! Come to me! I will give you everything you need to boldly proclaim the good news of The Kingdom and exhibit it’s power. All nations and people must not only hear, but see the Truth coming forth that they may see, consider, and come to be a part of The Everlasting Kingdom! This is how you will change eternity! I love you My child!!!

Isaiah 52:15 “So shall He sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths at Him; For what had not been told them they shall see, And what they had not heard they shall consider.”

It’s My Way…

Daily Encouragement –

Are you satisfied with life? Do you have all you need? Are you walking so you will not stumble and fall? Do you really know Me?

Sadly, at some point, or at many points, you will choose to walk in your own way. If you are walking in your own way, you will become dissatisfied, needy, you will begin to falter, and feel alone. This is a miserable existence, and I do not want this to be the story of your life or even a chapter in it.

Come to Me! Return to Me! Acknowledge the foolishness of your own way, and walk with Me!

Walking with Me, you will have all you need, and I am walking with you to help you. I am here to satisfy the deepest longing of your heart. I am close and will reveal all of Who I am so we will grow in relationship together.

I am willing! I am ready! I am waiting for you! Come to Me! Come closer! Let’s walk together! I love you My child!!!

Jeremiah 31:9 “They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father…”

V. 18-19 “… Restore me, and I will return, For You are the Lord my God. Surely, after my turning, I repented; And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh; I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’”

V. 33-34 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

Will You Come?

Daily Encouragement –

Come to Me! Come to Me! Come to Me, over and over again! Come to Me that you may receive the Life I have for you. The closer you come, the more life you will receive.

Do you know what would happen if you were to come close and stay with Me never looking to the ways of the world or being pulled away by the cares of this life? Doing this, you would receive True Life and come to know the specific work I have designed you to accomplish.

You must know and do the work I have for you. So many are counting on you to bring witness of who I am. As you step into your destiny, you are being the witness I have called you to, and all of heaven is backing you.

All of this can only come about as you willingly come to Me and receive the life I have for you. I love you My Child! Come to Me!

John 5:39 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

John 5:36 the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

Rend the Heavens

Daily Encouragement –

I am coming!!! I will come in all My glory and power to overshadow you. Holy Spirit is being poured out in greater and greater ways upon all My willing vessels. Those who walk with Me as instruments of righteousness are receiving a special anointing to walk unspotted in the middle of a dark and evil world. You must be special, set apart, holy!!!

I will use you for great things even as you press in to know and follow Me. I am the One who gives increase in every area. I am the One who rends the heavens to come down and bless you with all of Who I Am.

I have more that you could ever need to abundantly supply every physical and spiritual need. I will overcome you with all of Who I Am as you press into Me! I love you My child!!!

Isaiah 64:1-4 “Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence—
2 As fire burns brushwood, As fire causes water to boil— To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!
3 When You did awesome things for which we did not look, You came down, The mountains shook at Your presence.
4 For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.”

Desire to be Close

Daily Encouragement August 18 –

My child, I desire to be with you. I have made the way that you can come closer to Me than ever before. I will always come as close and reveal as much as possible. I am not being mean or withholding from you. You are the one I will always bend over backwards to demonstrate My love and speak to.

You may not understand how or why, but you are the most important to Me. Make sure there is nothing in or around you that is holding Me back from coming and revealing Myself to you in new and exciting ways. If there is, let’s get it right and out of the way so we can keep right on moving together.

I am ready and willing to go deeper with you than ever before. Come close, and let’s go deeper together!!! I love you My child!!!

Ephesians 2:13-14, 18 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation…
18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
