You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Here we are, the last two days of The 40.  If you have not already, you are probably dreaming about what you will eat first.  Please remember to break the fast simple and slow. Your stomach will have shrunk and food will be more difficult to digest.  Chew food throughly and eat small portions.  It should take at least three days to get back to eating what you were eating before the fast.  Be conscious of what your body is doing, and any discomfort means you should slow the breaking of the fast.  All that being said, the day of celebration is almost here.  We have sought the Lord together in the fasting, let’s continue to seek Him together in the celebration!

Too often, we become people of extremes.  We are either completely for something or totally against it.  In issues of morality this may be good, but this can get us into trouble in other areas.  Jesus was a man of grace and truth. If you are too full of grace, anything goes and truth gets thrown out the window. If you are totally focused on truth, there is not room for the grace that abounds to do its work in you.

Another area we see this evident is the Spirit and The Word.  Some people focus so much on the Spirit, they end up doing whatever they want and the Word becomes useless to them.  However, some people are so focused on The Word that they get bound up in religious rules and doctrine and do not allow the a Bible to be The Living Word.

In the same way, we could become so focused on the power, blessing, and benefits of fasting that we begin to believe that this is the only way God will work.  Often, people think that I am the fasting man and do not eat or do not like food, because they do not take the time to get to know me.  One reason I have focused so much on fasting is because it seems that their is almost no teaching on it in the American church.  There is so much focus on fellowship, feasting, and celebration and almost nothing about the benefits and blessing of prayer and fasting.  Both have their time and place, but one does not cancel out the other.

This was a problem during the life of Jesus.  Which is better to eat and drink or to fast and pray?  Let’s see what Jesus has to say about it:

Luke 7:33-35 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man has come  eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a  winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by all her children.”

John the Baptizer was Jesus’ cousin who came at a time that needed a message of humility and repentance.  He was in line for the priesthood and therefore never would lack a meal in his life if he continued in the natural order of things.  However, God called him to a life set apart from the culture in order that he could not only be a man of humility and repentance, but so that he could share this message from a transformed life and by being a living example.  Repentance and humility was needed in the people to prepare the way for the new revelation of The Truth, Jesus.

Because of his lifestyle, those who did not agree with John said he had a demon and was not from God.  They would much prefer to eat, drink, and be merry.  No need to repent and humble yourself when you could enjoy the pleasures of this world.  Often, we ignore the present word of The Lord because we do not want come into line with it.

However, these same people had nothing good to say when Jesus came along either.  Nearly every time we see Jesus, He is with people in their houses or sitting around a table at a meal.  He is constantly celebrating and feasting as He ministers to the people.  He also multiplies food to make sure that everyone gets plenty even to abundance.  The people who wanted John to be more free and to celebrate more begin to accuse Jesus of being too free and celebratory.  They said he was sinning by giving into the lust of the flesh.  Too much food, too much wine, and too much grace must be in his life.  He cannot be from God.

These people have no wisdom, only a desire to follow the lust of their flesh to do what they want, and the desire to make themselves look better than everyone else.  It is easier to criticize people for how they act than to examine our own lives and submit them to God that He may transform us into His image.  Let’s humbly offer our bodies to The Lord Jesus as living sacrifices to do what He wants in us and through us.  Whether we are fasting or feasting, we will sin if we have wrong hearts, wrong words, or wrong actions.

My encouragement for us today is to focus on Jesus and be obedient to what He is calling us to do.  We do not need to look around us and degrade or exalt others because of how they look or what they may be doing.  We are called to examine ourselves and submit ourselves to God.  As we walk in submission and obedience we will be transformed into the children of The Kingdom that we were created to be.

Jesus, help me to always look to You and You alone for approval.  I do not desire people of this world to consent to my actions, but I want to align with You, Your Word, and Your Way!  I want to praise, honor, and glorify You in my actions, words, and even thoughts that you may be glorified in me and that Your heart would be exhibited from me.

Practical –

  • Submit to Holy Spirit
  • Ask to hear His Words
  • Walk and live in obedience to all He reveals

Be blessed today to walk constantly coming more into line with Jesus and His way and to exhibit the same grace and truth that He walked in.  May you truly become the child of God you were created to be as you are propelled into new levels with Him!

Spiritual Alignment 16/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Patience, persistence, and perseverance are words we like to avoid.  We have moved past the need for longsuffering to patience because that is a nicer way to say it.  However, longsuffering is a much more descriptive term to what is taking place.  Whatever you happen to call it, it takes work to continue in the faith of believing for your breakthrough into the next level.  I encourage you to look to Jesus from Whom comes your help.  May you be long-prospering even as you move past longsuffering.

Every single one of us are walking through this life.  No one is exempt from the troubles and hardships the world has to bring.  I would love to tell you that as you seek the Lord, you become perfect and can live somewhere in a bubble of perfect communion with God that will take you out of the world and make everything okay.  This is not the case.  In fact Jesus said:

John 17:15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.”

At one time, the followers of Christ thought to create a separate culture like a monastery or convent that was set apart from the world, but Jesus never meant for this to happen.  You are meant to be His shining light in the middle of a dark world that many may see His light shining through you and be drawn to Him by your words and actions.  The way you respond in the same negative situations that others are going through should be a testimony to the greatness and glory of God in you.

Sadly, we often do not handle the circumstances of life much different than the people in the world.  Because of our weak humanity, we fall into complaining, pain, despair, and even the depression and darkness that plagues the world.  This happens because our flesh and soul have not yet come into line with The Holy Spirit yet.  It is a process to ‘work out our salvation”  that we may truly become one with Him.

The heroes of the faith did not have it any easier than we do, and we even have recorded many of David’s passionate prayers and cries for help as he was going through terrifying life ordeals.  From him, we discover a key to bringing our flesh and soul into line with God’s plans and purposes even in the middle of the daily struggles.

Psalm 69:10 When they see me seeking for more of you with weeping and fasting,
they all just scoff and scorn at my passion.

Vs. 13 But I keep calling out to you, Yahweh! I know you will bend down to listen to me,
for now is the season of favor. Because of your faithful love for me, your answer to my prayer will be my sure salvation.

David reveals a secret into aligning our flesh and soul with Holy Spirit that many would pass over.  He is seeking more of God with passionate prayer and fasting.  Even when others would make fun of him for it, he is persistent.  He continues on.  David has so much confidence that God will come through to help in the situation, he does not care what others may say about his “pitiful cries for help”.  Prayer and fasting cause our soul to come into line with Holy Spirit in a way that nothing else can.  Fasting reveals our flesh and the prayer helps us give those things that arise over to God in the correct way.  These two together help us to truly become longsuffering.  A transformation begins to happen within us that creates the ability to weather the storms of this life and even be a witness in the most tragic circumstances.  This process continues as we continually seek Jesus and are changed by Him.

Jesus, I need you today.  My flesh and soul are constantly trying to pull me into world ways and earthly thinking, but I desire to be like you.  As I pray and fast, strip off the ways of the world and help me come into perfect alignment with You and Holy Spirit.  Even in the trials and tragedies of life, help me to shine brightly who You are because I run to you quickly for help in my time of need.  Give me the ability to be a true longsuffering light in the darkness!

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to help you see where He is working
  • Ask for strength and assurance that He is with you
  • Live your life with the perseverance He brings
  • Shine the glory of God in the dark situations

Be blessed today to see the glory of The Lord in the land of the living.  Even in the intense darkness, may you know He is with you and shine brightly His glory as you are propelled into the next level with Him.

Forgiveness in “Failure” 6/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

After the revelation of the importance of The 40, it seems necessary to remind ourselves who God is.  I have always been hardcore and radical about everything I do, and some people may mistake my intensity for harshness.

Exodus 34:6-7 And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,

Here, God tells Moses He would show him His glory, and this is what happens.  The nature of God that he saw was mercy, grace, patience, goodness, truth, and forgiveness.

During The 40, it is quite probable that you may mess up or give in to temptation at some point.  I have even had a dream that I was eating meat.  In the dream, I was horrified because I was supposed to be fasting.

Remember this, God looks at and judges your heart. When your heart is to commit yourself to Him in love and obedience, He forgives the mistakes and rewards your intentions.  In contrast to this, the enemy will try to make you feel like a failure and use this tactic to pull you out of The 40.  There is forgiveness in “failure” and grace in the mistakes.

If your heart is set to seek The Lord, do not let anything hold you back from seeking Him:

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We are looking to Jesus in the middle of our struggles, sins, and failures; and He will reward our hearts.

I think it was two years ago that my Dad was having a lot of pain in his knee and was thinking about getting it replaced. God prompted me to volunteer to fast and pray with Him for healing.  My Dad was a little reluctant and told me he wanted to pray about it first.  About a month later, I found out that from that time, he had no more pain or trouble with his knee.  This was a blessing for me to see how God honored my heart. Even though I did not really want to go through the fast, I was willing, and God worked because of that willingness.

I share this story as an encouragement to you that in the event any mistake might be made.  Press on!  Keep going!  Do not give up on The 40!  God forgives completely and can cause you to walk in the fullness of The 40 if your heart is to press in and please Him.

Please know, this also applies to those who are not physically able to go The 40.  If you started on only water and have to shift your fast because of health issues, keep your heart right.  In doing this, God will help you continue in the same power of The 40 even if it has to change.

Jesus, bless us with success and bring forgiveness for what others may see as failure.  Help my heart to be set totally to praise, honor, and glorify You!

Practical –

  • Ask God to reveal any area of weakness and to strengthen you with His mercy.
  • Any area of supposed failure to keep The 40, ask God to forgive you and recommit to press in to Him.
  • Walk The 40 in full assurance that God is with you to help, strengthen, and even restore you if you fall.

May you be blessed to fully complete The 40 whether by God’s strength and sustenance or by forgiveness and restoration!!!

What’s It Worth To You? 3/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!”

Today, I will choose to be thankful and bless The Lord no matter how my body may feel.  Right now, if you have given up food, it is normal for your body to go through some of the same symptoms of withdrawal.  Too much salt, sugar, and caffeine in our daily lives will cause headaches, nausea, achy limbs, a general feeling of weakness… as these are removed, and the body rids itself of toxins.  The good news is that these fleshly oppositions should pass today or tomorrow completely.

If you have decided to participate in this fast, the only question now is –

What’s it worth to you?

In our daily lives, we rarely have to give up anything of true value.  However, when we do, we must calculate if it is truly worth it.  There is a great difference between when you look into your purse or wallet and decide what you will pay for a shirt, book, or meal; and when you must consider the price you would pay for college, a car, or a house.  An object is only worth as much as we are willing to give for it.  Careful thought is put into how much a man will pay for a ring because you cannot put a price on the one that you really love.

As we fast and go through the daily troubles and temptations (i.e. your boss buying your favorite lunch for everyone the first day of the fast) let us look to Jesus and consider how much He is worth to us.

Maybe this is where you find yourself today:

2 Corinthians 4:8-11 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Troubles, persecutions, and the death of the enemy may come upon us in many different ways, but even as our flesh is delivered to death it is a necessary sacrifice to manifest the life of Jesus in our flesh!

May the life of Jesus shine out of you today and bring glory to The Father!

Something else to think about. In the middle of a discourse on denying your flesh, Jesus asks these two questions in Mark 8:36-37: For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

What is a soul truly worth?

Jesus bled, suffered, and died that your soul might be set free.  That is how much your soul is worth to Him.

How much is Jesus truly worth to You?

How much do you value the lost souls around you?

Jesus, I am willing to do whatever it takes and give up whatever it costs that You may be glorified and that lost souls may come into Your Kingdom!!! Help me to truly value You not just in my words but in my daily actions of obedience!

Practical –

• Read Mark 8:34-38 and contemplate the value of a soul.

• Make sure you have included a list of lost or backslidden people in your daily prayer time.

• Listen and obey when Holy Spirit brings up specific things to do for these individuals.

Be blessed to know the true value of your soul and the souls of those around you as you are propelled into the next level!!!

The Great Reward 2/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Keep up the good work! You can do it! Day 2 has in the past been my hardest day to overcome. It is helpful during these first three days of struggling, to overcome our flesh’s addictions, that we keep our eyes on the prize.

What is the prize?

What is the reward?

Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that God “is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

My own personal interpretation of this passage is that God will reward us as we seek Him even when we do not really want to. At this point in the fast, it is probably where we all are.

What is the reward?

The writer of Hebrews says later in Chapter 12 verse 2 that Jesus endured the cross because of the “...joy set before Him…

What is this joy?

What is it that will keep us going in the middle of this fast, but also the troubles of this life?

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 talks of the momentary light afflictions working for us an exceeding and eternal weight of glory.  That is what I want!

I desire the reward from The Father!

I crave the joy in the middle of the troubling times!

I am looking for the eternal weight of glory that I gain in the heavenlies as I give up a few things for a few days here on this earth.

You! You were the joy that caused Jesus to endure the cross. Your soul was worth it!

Jesus! He is my reward! More of His presence! More communion with Him! Deeper relationship and knowing of The Creator of The Universe as my friend!

Souls! Family, friends, neighbors, and nations is what I am claiming for my heavenly inheritance and eternal reward!

Jesus, I thank You that You are my reward! I ask for an increasing eternal reward of family, friends, neighbors, and nations for You and Your Kingdom!!!

Practical – Write down the rewards you are looking for and review them when your soul needs to remember why you are fasting.

  • What reward do you hope to gain from this fast?
  • What are you claiming as your eternal inheritance?

Be blessed with the great reward from heaven as you are propelled into the next level!!!

This Is Where The Fun Begins!!! 1/40

This is day one of the 40 day propel fast. For further understanding about this specific fast as well as some of the benefits and blessings of fasting and prayer, please read Propelled Into The Next Level.

Here, at the beginning, is where you will have the greatest expectation or greatest apprehension. This all depends upon the viewpoint you have going into the fast.

The enemy has probably already started assaulting your mind with questions like, “Are you sure you want to fast like this?” or “Are you sure you want to fast this long?” “Wouldn’t God be fine if you were not quite so extreme or radical?” The statements and questions of the enemy can cause fear to arise that will either cripple you, or cause you to see the grand adventure that is before you.

I am reminded of a word that I got while on mission in Cambodia. Some prophetic friends had dreams of me coming back from that trip in a wheelchair. My family and friends were praying, and I took precautions in the spiritual and physical against any attack of the enemy. This did not stop me, however, from enjoying my time at a carnival in a third world country that had numerous, questionable safety concerns. This is included a giant zip line. This friend’s warning was in my mind as I climbed the tower, but I did not let it stop me from having fun… I just prayed a lot more than I normally would have.

At this moment when God is beginning a movement in your life, troubles loom before you like the star destroyers that were closing in on The Millennium Falcon, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and the other characters in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.  This is where the line is uttered by Han, “this is where the fun begins!” A great fear is before you as it was then, but there is someone (a princess) in distress that needs help!

How many souls are waiting on you to set them free from bondage by your earnest prayer and fasting?

How many nations will be transformed because of your obedience?

How will your entire family benefit from the abundant blessings poured out upon them because of your steadfast faith in action?

There is an adventure in the unknown! The expectation will cause anticipation for what will take place over the next 40 days.

Psalm 16:11
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

Acts 2:28
“You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.”

Fun begins with The One!!! Jesus is the reason we fast!

He is our example!

He is our reason!

He is our strength!

He is our hope!

He is our fun, life, adventure, and so much more!!!

Jesus, I love you and declare that you are worth it! Bring me into Your Presence in a special way today and every day as I seek You!!!

Practical Steps –

– Make a list of reasons why you are fasting. Isaiah 58 is a good chapter to read when gaining an understanding of why we fast.

Here. Are some of the things on my list –

 1. Souls (the lost in my sphere of influence and unreached people)

2. Wisdom, Understanding, Revelation, and Might

3. Total Eradication of The Flesh

4. Release to The Nations

5. Break the Yoke of Debt

6. Re-dig the Wells of Revival

7. Power, gifts, miracles released in me and my family

8. Full Healing and Restoration (Specific family members and friends)

9. Open Doors

– Remember your reason/reasons

– Spend special time praying, meditating, and in quiet time lifting these things up to the Lord.

Be blessed as your fun begins and as you are propelled into the next level in Him!!!

Infinite Increase

Daily Encouragement –

Are you surrounded by unfavorable circumstances? Do hurts and troubles plague your life? Do you have hope that all these things will someday change for your better?

I am the Lord, Maker of all things!!! I have redeemed you from the pit and called you to The Kingdom! Come to Me!!!

If you can look to Me, trust in Me, and give glory to My name in the midst of your trouble, you can be sure that change is coming! You may be ridiculed, hurt, and broken; but as you come to Me, I will restore, strengthen, and exalt you beyond your expectations! You were never made to be lying in the dirt getting trampled by the world.

Come to Me and prepare for the infinite increase in The Kingdom that is your inheritance!!! You are coming into this and so much more as you come to Me!!! I love you My child!!!

Isaiah 54:1-3 “Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.”

😭😭😭 We met this beautiful family four years ago while we were in Aizawl and partnered with them in pioneering the first Burn 24/7 there. Even then, the presence of the Lord was so precious and honored and I was forever changed by the atmosphere that was released there. The sound of their worship still resonates in my ears and I can see their adoration displayed when I close my eyes as if it is a fresh memory. May we all be like these who still praise in the darkest of nights, no matter the cost. 😭😭😭

WORSHIP AT HIS SONS FUNERAL 😭😭
.
This is my fiend Zaia leading worship at his 1-year-old sons funeral held at his home (according to tradition) yesterday in Northeast India. ❤️❤️❤️
.
After battling several sudden & complex diseases, his beautiful son Chris (a twin) graduated into eternity with Jesus last week in spite of an avalanche of prayer for a miracle.
.
.
These are the moments that expose the RAWNESS and REALNESS of our worship. Zaia has gathered the community for years to 24-hour burns and built an amazing movement in his city. Now they all watch his response in his darkest hour. .
.
I’m too weepy on the plane now to write anything else except my profound love for his family and the grit they have shown to never turn their worship off. Leading a movement like this can be beyond exasperating, but these moments wreck my life.
As we all contended for a miracle the last few weeks, Zaia told me the Lord asked him: “Will you still praise me if the miracle you ask for us not granted?” .
.
His response is evident and we’re all witnesses.
.
THANK YOU ZAIA FOR THE TESTIMONY OF YOUR LIFE. We love you and praying for your family.
