Humble Yourself 23/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

I want to release a song that God gave me for my sons 2 and 4 years old.  “It’s a good, good, good, good, good, good, dayyy. It’s a good, good, good, good dayyyy!” Its kind of a catchy little tune that gets in your head, and I often sing it when they, or I, am not in the greatest mood.  So, if you are struggling today on day 23 or if you are doing great, may you be blessed with knowing, “It’s a good, good, good, good, good, good, dayyyy.  It’s a good, good, good, good dayyyy!”

As we press on in The 40, we must remember to focus on Jesus for our strength and sustenance. We need him today more than we ever have whether we are fasting or not.  When we admit our need for Jesus and that we cannot do anything on our own, in agreement with John 15:5, we are stepping into humility.  As we continue to fast and pray The 40, humility is one of the greatest virtues we could gain.  Humility partnered with prayer and fasting has an indescribable power that begins to release itself in us and flow out from us.

Let’s examine a few places in scripture where humility is partnered with repentance, prayer and fasting.  In 1 Kings 21, you actually find the only place of fasting without prayer, humility or repentance.  The wicked queen Jezebel actually calls a demonic fast as she schemes to murder Naboth and take his vineyard from him (1 Kings 21:9, 12). This is done through pride and for personal gain and results in false accusation.  No humility here.

As King Ahab goes to survey his newly acquired vineyard, Elijah is sent to him with a message. Ahab, Jezebel, and all their children will be completely destroyed and wiped out.  This is a judgment because of their wickedness, rebellion, and constant disobedience to turn from God and his ways.  The following verses contain Ahab’s response:

1 Kings 21:27-29 So it was, when Ahab heard those words, that he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his body, and fasted and lay in sackcloth, and went about mourning. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, “See how Ahab has humbled himself before Me? Because he has humbled himself before Me, I will not bring the calamity in his days. In the days of his son I will bring the calamity on his house.”

Even though the judgment of The Lord had been pronounced repentance, fasting, and prayer were evidence of a humbled heart before God and his judgment was delayed until a later time.  The fasting and repentance were proof that Ahab had truly humbled himself and submitted himself to God. It was too late to avoid judgment, but God recognized and had mercy for a time before judgment took place.

As we continue looking at humbling ourselves, repentance, fasting, and prayer, we move to a passage we discussed in Touching The Kingdom.  Here, we see the prophet Daniel has moved from repentance prayer in chapter 9 into fasting and prayer for 21 days.  He is pressing in for revelation and desires to gain understanding. As this happens, he sees, hears, and is touched by the heavenly realm:

Daniel 10:2-3, 12 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three full weeks were fulfilled…  Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

The angel recognizes that Daniel is seeking understanding and humbling himself in prayer. This humbling of self was evidenced by the fact that he was repenting, fasting, and praying.  These are only two of the verses that can be found that provide proof that fasting is a fruit that comes from a repentant and humble heart.

How much more should we seek to have a heart of repentance and to humble ourselves through fasting knowing our God of great grace and mercy that works mightily on our behalf?!

The final passage I want to pinpoint is one that we all probably know and may even have memorized. We have used this scripture for years because of the promise contained within, but I did not understand the full meaning until just recently God opened my eyes to a revelation that was hidden right in front of my eyes.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

During the National Day of Prayer and other regular prayer meetings, this passage will come up frequently because everyone knows we need our land to be healed.  Now, more than ever, we can see the division and disunity the enemy is trying to bring into the whole earth.

What is the solution? The people of God must come together in true repentance, humility, prayer, and seeking God. In various other places humbling yourself is equated with the action of fasting that evidences your need for God.

Is it possible that this passage that is referenced over and over actually is a call to the people of God to repentance, prayer, and fasting in a spirit of humility that the sin of our land be forgiven and for our prayer to be answered?

There is true power in corporate humbling ourselves through fasting, prayer, and repentance. We must tap into this power if we want to gain the benefits that result.

Vs. 15-16 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually.

My encouragement for you today is to come seeking God with a heart of humility and repentance. Just because we are fasting does not mean we are humbling ourselves. However, when we realize our need for Holy Spirit to help us, and recognize that He is the only one that can do supernatural work in our lives and in the healing of our land, the eyes and ears of heaven will be open and attentive to us. God’s holy name will be on us to sanctify us, draw us closer than ever before, and heal our land. As this happens, we will daily be propelled into the next level with Him!

Jesus, I desire to humble myself before you today. I recognize my utter dependency on you.  Without you I can do nothing. Thank you that I can come boldly before your throne of grace and ask for all I need. Do a mighty healing in me and in the land as I come to you in humility and repentance today.  Make me a sanctified place of residence for Holy Spirit and use me to do your work.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you your need for Him
  • Humble yourself by coming to Him in repentance and humility
  • Ask for the strength and sustaining power to walk in obedience today
  • Obey all He calls you to do

Be blessed with new revelation of humility and your need for God, and the ability to walk into deeper levels of humbling yourself. May your land be healed and your people restored as you humble yourself and are propelled into new levels with Him!

Precipitating The Latter Rain 11/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

It is time once again to examine our reasons to commit to The 40.  We must constantly refresh the reason behind the fast or we will be drawn away by the enticements of the world to what may seem better.

Why have you committed to press in to The Lord through fasting?

Whatever your reason may be for going into this fast, today, I want to give you another one. Fasting precipitates the Latter Rain.  The former generation experienced what they refer to as the Latter Rain and there have been many prophecies about the former and latter rain coming together in these days ahead using the passage Joel 2:23.  Though this is the passage used by so many about the coming releasing of The Spirit in a mighty way, few know the context in Joel during this time.  Another passage of scriptures you may know well is Joel 2:28-32.

Joel 2:28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and  on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

This may be one of the most referred to passages in the charismatic church especially since it is referenced by Peter in Acts 2:17-21 when the Holy Spirit comes upon the disciples in such a powerful way.  Again, it seems that no one knows the context of what is happening in the book of Joel preceding this.  We often overlook “minor” details that can lead us to a true revelation to how God wants to bring about what He has promised conditionally.  It is especially important to view the context because this passage starts with, me paraphrasing, these things will take place after something else happens.

If you read the book of Joel, this is a time of tremendous devastation in the entire land of Judah.  An enormous plague of locusts had come and stripped the entire country of all vegetation.  Famine and drought as well as starvation and death of man and animals was taking place.  This was the worst possible moment in the people’s lives, and they needed a solution.  The prophet Joel came with a solution:

Joel 1:13-14 Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; Wail, you who minister before the altar; Come, lie all night in sackcloth, You who minister to my God; For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God. 14 Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land
Into the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.

The solution for this crisis is humility, repentance, prayer, and fasting.  This plague was a result of the people’s constant refusal to turn to God and follow His ways.  Therefore, He allows the effects of their disobedience to come upon them.  Turning back to Him is the only way to change their situation, and fasting is a sign of a true repentance and humbling of the heart.

In case the people did not want to take the advice of a mere prophet of God, The Lord Himself gives the solution for their problem in the very next chapter:

Joel 2:12-13 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”  13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.

Here, God calls for repentance, fasting, and prayer.  Fasting is a true evidence of a desire to change and come into line with God and His purposes instead of partnering with our own flesh.  This is what will cause the grace and mercy of Heaven to be made evident in our lives.  This is not just a call for certain group of people like the holy priests or pastors.  Vs. 15-17 tells us that it is for:

  • People
  • The Congregation
  • Elders
  • Children
  • Babies
  • Newlyweds
  • Priests

No one is left out of this call to come to the Lord in repentance, fasting, and prayer.  No this is not a mandatory thing.  However, this is what is referring to in Vs. 28 after you come as an entire people in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer then God will pour out His Spirit.  The apostles received The Holy Spirit after waiting and in unity in The Upper Room for 10 days.  We know they were praying together, but I believe they were fasting as well.  The outbreak of The Spirit at Azusa was a result of 10 days of fasting and praying together.

Here we are, committed to The Lord and each other for The 40.  What can God do with our hearts that come to Him in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer?

Jesus, I ask that you will take this simple offering of my life, my commitment to you and use it for Your Kingdom.  I desire for The Great Outpouring of The Spirit that has so often been talked about.  I come to you in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer right now.  Come and move in a mighty way that you may receive the glory that is due Your name!!!

Practical –

  • Read Joel 1-2
  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal how you can partner with Him in your personal prayer time
  • Ask Him to reveal how to call your community into humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer
  • Be obedient to all that He speaks.

Be blessed with the power to partner with Holy Spirit in precipitating the Latter Rain.  May this lifestyle propel you into the next level with Him!

Accomplish The “Impossible” 9/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Most of us have started The 40 with high expectations, however, now the real work begins.  The day to day living it out can be hard since we must constantly seek to overrule our flesh and give ourselves to the Lord.

Now is the time to encourage ourselves in The Lord the benefits of keeping The 40 and continuing to walk with Holy Spirit in spite of what our bodies might be telling us.

Prayer and fasting gives us the power to accomplish the “impossible”.  Of course, we know that “nothing shall be impossible with God”, yet we still live our lives with “impossible” situations which do not seem to respond to us.

Jesus’ disciples had this same problem while He was on the mount being transfigured.  A man whose son is assaulted by demons asks for their help.  Though they try, they can do nothing about it.  When Jesus returns, He easily casts out the demons and heals the boy.  He does not seem to be impressed with His disciples’ efforts either.  The disciples come to Him and ask why they could not do the same.  This is His response:

Matthew 17:20 “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

We do not know what was going on in the disciples’ minds, but Jesus did not ever shy away from directly addressing what people said in their hearts.  I believe the disciples did not see a response and had blamed it on not having enough faith.  Jesus directly confronts this with The Kingdom Truth that the smallest amount of faith can do the mightiest things in His Kingdom.  They had let doubt creep in and this kept them from pressing in to see transformation take place.

Then, Jesus says something else interesting that some translations completely leave out.

Matthew 7:21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

What kind is Jesus talking about?

Some would say demons, but I think He is talking about the unbelief.  Unbelief is a pesky little problem that constantly assaults our media-driven culture.  If we cannot see or hear something happening, it is quite hard for us to believe.  We can never see the shifting in the heavens when our eyes are on worldly circumstances.

If unbelief keeps us back from doing mighty work in The Kingdom, we should be quick to follow Jesus’ cure for it, prayer and fasting.  This dynamite duo is able to demolish and disintegrate the demonic unbelief that has built up in our lives.  This is how we say, “God I trust You to take care of the unseen as I partner with You in the physical.  I need you to do the “impossible” work of overcoming these spiritual obstacles in me while I do the possible work, with Your help, of prayer and fasting.”

Jesus, help me to know that you have given me a measure of faith.  This faith has the power to overcome every seeming impossible thing in my life and those around me.  Help me to join with you in prayer and fasting that all unbelief within me will be destroyed and Your mountain-moving faith will be displayed for all to come and glorify You.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal the things in your life and around you that you have labeled as impossible
  • Pray that every ounce of unbelief is removed from your life
  • Participate with Him in doing the impossible whatever He shows you to do

Be blessed with the power to remove all doubt and do the impossible as you walk with God in obedience and humility.  May this propel you into new levels in The Kingdom!

Shifting The Heavens 8/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Today starts week 2, we thank God for His grace and mercy to get us this far, and we ask for divine strength to continue The 40 as we have purposed in our hearts.

Right now, you may not notice anything happening in the earth, but there is a shifting taking place in the heavens. The heavenly realm is moved when a son or daughter of God humbles themselves and lays down their life for The King.

2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

God’s eyes are upon you to strengthen you and sustain you.  Invite Him to come and strengthen you even now.

God responds to faith, as we see in Hebrews 11, and fasting is true faith in God as your sustainer.  Humility causes God to move in a mighty way, and fasting and prayer actually turns God’s heart to mercy, grace, and compassion for those crying out to Him.

Consider my two-year old’s favorite story, the story of Jonah.  An unwilling prophet is compelled to obedience to speak a word of judgment to a horribly wicked city.  He speaks a simple word “yet forty days and the city of Nineveh will be overthrown”, and the people believe God.  These are not righteous God-fearing Jews, but pagan idol-worshiping, murdering, adulterous people.  In spite of all this, they believed God.  These people who did not even know our God turned to Him and cried out in repentance, fasting, and prayer for every man and beast.  The king offers this statement, “Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?”  the heavens were shifted over the region of Nineveh (more than 120,000 people), and God relented from what He said he would do.

How is this possible?  How is this even fair?

Humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer shifted the heavens from judgment to mercy and grace.  God has both justice and mercy, grace and truth in His nature.  However, you have the power to shift the Heavens in your life and even the city or region you live in.  God has placed you where you are for a reason, and He has called you to The 40 for a reason.

As you continue into week 2, let this be an encouragement to you.  You are contending for you, your family, your neighbors, your city, your nation, and the nations around the world.  You have been given the ability to shift the Heavens!  Don’t give up! Don’t back down!  Press in to fulfill your purpose in The Kingdom even if you cannot see the change taking place in front of your eyes.

Jesus, help us to be the ones that come to you in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer. We desire to transform our homes, neighborhoods, regions, and nations.  We desire Your Kingdom to come in a mighty way, help us to be the ones that bring about this change, even as you change our hearts to come more into line with Your heart.

Practical –

  • Read Jonah 3
  • Ask Holy Spirit to give you a heart for where he has placed you
  • Ask to be the change
  • Be obedient to all that God speaks

Be blessed to be the change that transforms every area of society as Holy Spirit propels you into the next level with Him!

Holiness Leads to Harvest 7/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

On the final day of week 1, I wanted to align our focus once again upon the things on God’s heart.  God’s heart is for all of His children to become one with Him.  Because of this, there are two things I will hone in on today.

Holiness –

Please read 2 Corinthians 6:16 -18 for context.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

God yearns for us to live and walk in increasing holiness both in body and spirit.  He requires continual advancement of purity of heart if we are to be allowed access into the secret places with Him.  Too many times, holiness and purity can seem to be some sort of stoic legalism that keeps us from doing all the “fun” stuff.  All of this supposed “fun” stuff creates barriers between us and a Holy God.  He cannot allow the filthiness of the world to enter the Holy of Holies for it would be consumed in His Holy Fire and us along with it.

It is for this reason that Father God is continually calling us to holiness that we may truly come close to Him.  The more we are cleansed from the sin and death of the world, the closer we can come to our Holy Father.  Repenting, confessing, and continuing to walk in purity and holiness give intimate access into a holy relationship between The Holy Father and His sons and daughters.  His longing is to dwell continually with us.  He craves to walk with you and Father you as true sons and daughters. Sons and daughters are forever becoming like their Father.

Harvest –

Matthew 9:36-38 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

The heart of The Father flowing through The Son caused him to see a lost humanity waiting to be gathered into His family.  What is the solution to this problem?  Pray for the laborers! God needs His representatives, His sons and daughters, to go and bring in The Great Harvest of souls.  God desires all of His children to become sons and daughters.

Immediately after this in chapter 10, Jesus sends out the disciples to do exactly what He had been doing and bring in The Harvest.  When sons and daughters draw close to The Father, they will receive His heart of compassion for the lost.  My former youth pastor calls them pre-Christians, because they have not yet come to know Jesus, but they will in Jesus’ name!!!

Read Isaiah 6:1-6 for context

Vs 7-8 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

One final example that brings holiness and harvest together comes in the call of Isaiah.  Isaiah actively places himself in a position to receive from God.  He sees The Holiness of God and is immediately driven to repentance for himself and his people.  God is faithful to cleanse him completely.  After that, he accesses a secret conversation taking place in the heavenlies.  Having received a new heart, his desire is to immediately go for God without any information or limitation.  Our desire should be no different.  When we are touched, cleansed, and restored; our heart will be for others to receive the same no matter what kind of effort it may take from us.

Jesus, I pray that You will help me to become truly like You. I want to be free of all the filth of the world that I might have intimate access to the secret place with You.  Draw me closer than ever before even as I confess everything that has taken me far from You.

Father, transform me to have Your heart for all Your lost and wayward children.  Use me as a laborer in The Great Harvest that all the multitudes of pre-Christians may become part of Your family because of my love and obedience to You.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to examine your life and reveal anything out of line with His Holiness.
  • Confess this and ask to be cleansed and purified by Jesus’ blood
  • Ask for The Father’s Heart of compassion for souls
  • Obey all that God asks you to say or do

Be blessed with the ability to walk in holiness and access the secret places of The Kingdom!  Be blessed to truly receive the heart of The Father and live a lifestyle laboring in The Great Harvest of souls!!!

Can You Hear The Stars Singing?

It is a historic window of time we are in at the moment given that fifty years ago this week, July 16 – July 24, man first set foot on the moon with the Apollo 11 space mission. As I was sharing with my boys this morning about the moon landing that took place this day in 1969 and showing photos and video footage, the Lord began to remind me of a word He spoke on January 3rd of this year that I had typed up but never felt released to share:

During my early morning seeking time with the Lord recently, He began to speak to me and peak my wonder of creation and of the stars. As I gazed out the front window in my living room set high upon the wall, I saw the moon rising in star-mingled darkness in preparation to give way to the sun’s light. In that place, I heard the Lord say:

“The stars are testifying of the Light that is coming. Here in the night, they light up the sky with glimmers of life as a true and pure reflection of My Son rising on the horizon.

Long before the light and rays of the Son ever appear to shine upon the earth, the celestial body tells of the One Who brings light into existence.

They raise up a sound and song of light, yes, explosive light; and they gather together in a divine convergence of the emergence of the Son. Each one, though unique, tells the story of their Maker. Each one testifies of the glory and grace of the One Who fashioned them into being. An explosive power resonates throughout time and space bringing each into their purpose. Let the fire of their existence rise into a glorious bonfire of magnification.”

Job 38:4-7 (AMP)
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you know and have understanding. Who determined the measurements [of the earth], if you know? Or who stretched the [measuring] line on it? On what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God (angels) shouted for joy?”

Isaiah 44:23 (TPT)
“Sing! Starry sky above break loose with singing, for Yahweh has finished it! Shout! Earth deep below, give up your shout! Mountains high, break out with joyous songs of praise! Let the forest choirs join in, every tree singing its notes! For Yahweh has paid the ransom price for you.”

I began to feel a strong urging to release this word and I believe that this fifty year mark signifies a transformational shift in the spirit as well as in all of creation. Neil Armstrong is famously quoted for saying as he set foot on the surface of the moon, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

The Lord brought that quote to mind as I pondered on this word and I believe that He is saying, “You have entered into a divine opportunity to arise with the celestial body in the expanse of the heavens and birth a new song, a new sound, and a new magnification of the Son.

As you finish out 2019 and head into 2020, you will see an emergence of the Global Body of Christ being awakened by the Son’s Light rising upon a new dawn, a new horizon. A deep understanding of the Day of the Lord that is rising upon you will shake dead and dormant ones awake and will thrust forth Burning Ones into their destiny to reflect the Son’s Light in the earth. Just as you cannot number the stars in the sky, so too, will you be unable to number the vastness of new sound waves I am releasing through these Burning Ones as they charge forth into the night and carry with them Dawn’s Burning Light!

No longer will there be the “hard and dark places,” for I have erased that term from the very essence of vocabulary. From now on, a heralding cry will echo forth through time and space, beckoning the lost to be gathered into My bosom. The cry and song of My Burning Ones will cause the earth to tremble and the heavens to roar and pour forth Salvation’s Song! Surely, I will finish what I started!”

Psalm 148:1-6 (TPT)
The Cosmic Chorus of Praise
“Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Let the skies be filled with praise and the highest heavens with the shouts of glory! Go ahead—praise Him, all you His messengers! Praise Him some more, all you heavenly hosts! Keep it up, sun and moon! Don’t stop now, all you twinkling stars of light! Take it up even higher—up to the highest heavens, until the cosmic chorus thunders His praise! Let the entire universe erupt with praise to God. From nothing to something He spoke and created it all. He established the cosmos to last forever, and He stands behind His commands so His orders will never be revoked.”

Revelation 22:16 (AMP)
“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you and to give you assurance of these things for the churches. I am the Root (the Source, the Life) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and bright Morning Star.”

Beloved, I have been saying this for what feels like ages, but the brevity of it bears an eternal witness in the heavens: THE TIME TO ARISE AND SHINE IS UPON YOU!!! THE LIGHT HAS COME!!! DO NOT WASTE ANOTHER MOMENT ON THAT WHICH DOES NOT BEAR AN ETERNAL WEIGHT AND AN ETERNAL FRUIT!!!

Isaiah 60:1-5 (AMP)
“Arise [from spiritual depression to a new life], shine [be radiant with the glory and brilliance of the Lord]; for your light has come, and the glory and brilliance of the Lord has risen upon you. For in fact, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness will cover the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you [Jerusalem] and His glory and brilliance will be seen on you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes around you and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from far away, and your daughters will be looked after at their side. Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will tremble [with joy] and rejoice because the abundant wealth of the seas will be brought to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.”

Isaiah 60:19-22 (AMP)
“The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor shall the bright glow of the moon give light to you, but the Lord will be an everlasting light for you; and your God will be your glory and splendor. Your sun will no longer set, nor will your moon wane; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be over. Then all your people will be [uncompromisingly and consistently] righteous; they will possess the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified. The smallest one will become a thousand (a clan), and the least one a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will quicken it in its [appointed] time.”

The Lost Relics of the Simple Gospel and Our Testimony

It has been almost a week in updating from my time in Spain, and schedules got so busy that I never really had time to sit down and share more about what had taken place since my last post. So much so, in fact, that I’m actually back in the states; having arrived a few nights ago.

IMG_4757

Amada, our translator and worship leader for the meeting.

On Thursday, we were scheduled to go to a house church-like meeting. It was the first one of its kind in the area and was put on by a woman in the church that John and I partnered with in Torrevieja. We were unsure of what to expect in going, but it turned out to be wonderful! It was obvious this woman came with expectancy for God to move and had gone out and done her duty in bringing in the people! She was a person of peace and I bless her for her obedience! I was going to share the Gospel with the Evangecube and it was a nice surprise to have a new translator; a young woman named Amada. She had been through YWAM Madrid in recent years and led worship at our meeting as well. She and I connected really well and I had the joy prophesying over her and in getting to know her joy-filled spirit all the more afterwards as we went out to dinner.

After worshipping together, I shared the Gospel with everyone and when I came to the point where each person must make a choice of whether they want to ask Jesus into their heart and receive eternal life and salvation, no one really responded. Suddenly, our expectant host asked me to share my testimony of what Jesus did for me and why I chose Jesus. I chose a picture on the cube showing man surrounded in darkness, contrasted with God in the light. I shared how I spent my life afflicted with sickness and pain; and drowning in bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, fear, and unbelief in being abandoned by my birth father and step father. I explained how I reached the end of my rope and was desperate for hope and deliverance from the darkness I was dying in. I spoke of how God stepped in in my brokenness, surrounded me with the Love of the Father; and how Jesus came in and healed me of all of my ailments and restored my life through His sacrifice on the cross.

Our host then asked if John and my mother-in-love would share their testimonies. They shared about how God reconciled them to Himself in revealing their need for a Savior; and that simply being a good person or operating out of religion cannot save you. Suddenly, those who knew Jesus began passing around the Evangecube, picking a picture on it they most identified with, and shared their testimonies of Jesus’ work in their lives. It was beautiful! We then came back to where we began…we must all make a choice. Life or death. Light or darkness. The lost in the room had become so moved at the testimonies of Jesus that with tear-filled eyes, they responded with choosing Life! We led them in a prayer of salvation and Pastor Pablo asked if I would lay hands on and pray for them. God touched them mightily and their countenances were lighter and brighter.

Marissa (left), Pastor Elsa, Maria, Ana (our host), and Augustine. Marissa, Maria, and Augustine gave their lives to Jesus!

In this time, Holy Spirit reminded me of a message my Husband sent me the prior morning from our cousin. She had been praying for the team and Holy Spirit showed her a picture of me running with fire, coming up to an older bald man with glasses, embracing him, and transferring the fire to him. Suddenly I realized sitting before me was that very man He had shown her. Being filled with fire, my spirit began burning to share this word with Augustine, who had just given his life to the Lord. God knew his time had come and He had a special message and impartation of commission for this new son!
Expect the unexpected!

As I shared the vision with Augustine, I began to see how he connected with much of what God had revealed to me in the past seven years of going to Spain. He became flabbergasted and Holy Spirit downloaded to me His prophetic decree to His son. I began to prophesy God’s design for Augustine, that he was to take hold of the torch and blaze a trail across all of Spain. I saw Jesus come behind him and pour out a bucket of liquid fire upon him and everywhere he ran, wildfires raged across the land. He had searched the land for a Spaniard who would say, “yes!” to the call, and had been declined many times. His hand was extended, in high hopes that this son would take hold of Him and answer the call. The look of shock grew on Augustine’s face as tears welled up in his eyes; and he responded with, “I don’t think I’m strong enough for that.” The beauty of it all is that we aren’t meant to be able to! It is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of God dwelling within us, that we are empowered to fulfill our destiny and set the world ablaze for the Glory of God! He then responded with a joy-filled “yes!”, stood up and embraced me. We then laid hands him, prayed for him, imparted the fire of God, and commissioned him to set his nation on fire! He left a completely different person than when he had entered! Praise the Lord!!!

I would like to propose to you a simple principle, an often forgotten lost relic of the evangelical life…the marriage of the Simple Gospel and the Word of our Testimony.  It is by these two things that we overcome the kingdom of darkness and establish the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. The utter power of the Simple Gospel to break the bonds of wickedness, loose the yoke of oppression, heal all afflictions and diseases, fling wide the prison doors, and set the captives free will never diminish or fade. It will never decrease in effectiveness or cease to produce Kingdom developing results. However, when partnered with the Word of our Testimony, all deception from the enemy is crushed and obliterated; for no one can deny your testimony!

We are called to be martyrs, faithful witnesses of what we have seen and known to be true!

THIS is what I have seen and know to be true: Jesus came, He died MY death upon the cross to purchase me and pay my eternal debt that could not be paid, His body was broken to purchase my healing and deliverance. He rose again victoriously conquering all the powers of hell and setting me free to be one with Him. He is seated at the right hand of the Father ever interceding for me; and He has given me all power and authority under Heaven to do as He did, and even more. He sent His Holy Spirit to abide within me to be my guide, comforter, healer, friend, breath, life, power, and freedom.

Acts 1:8 (TPT)
“‘But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will be filled with power (you will be seized with power). And you will be My messengers (witnesses, martyrs) to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces—even to the remotest places on earth!'”

Because of all of these things, I am healed of four “life-long, incurable” afflictions, I hold in my arms two beautiful children because of that healing, I am married to a wonderful and fiery man who every day is becoming more and more a reflection of the One Who holds my heart. I am forgiven, free, bold, unashamed, undignified, a Burning One set on seeing the desire of Jesus’ heart made manifest among the nations…that they would be set ablaze for His coming!!! I get to partner with Jesus in fulfilling His mission through this Great CO-Mission! I get to go into all the world to see Him do for others what He has done for me!

When we testify of what Jesus has done, we create an atmosphere for Him to come do it again! It is simple. It is Holy. It is powerful. It is the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth. All of Heaven for all of eternity testifies of Jesus, the Worthy Lamb Who was slain before the foundations of the earth, of His holiness. So I say to you, let’s join with Heaven and do the same!

Revelation 12:11 (TPT)
“They conquered him completely
through the blood of the Lamb and the powerful word of his testimony. They triumphed because they did not love and cling to their own lives, even when faced with death.”

I will be sharing in the next post or two, about the rest of my journey in Spain; but until then…

Fuego de Dios esté sobre vosotros para testificar!!! (Fire of God be upon you to testify!!!)
