Inherit The Promises 36/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement

Now, we are so close to the end. The end is in sight.  Do not give up or surrender to the enemy. Press on and obtain the prize of knowing Jesus in a greater way.  The 40 has been a special time of sowing seed together, and we will fully complete it together if we do not lose heart!

Today, As we press on toward the end. I was reminded of something that needs to be shared.  Lou Engle, a man who is known for fasting and praying as a lifestyle, has said that often, we do not see the fruit of 40 days of fasting until afterwards.  My wife and I have been seeking the Lord diligently for a long time with varying degrees of success in hearing and seeing.  However, it seems that during The 40 there have been no dreams, visions, or life-changing words yet.  I know that if we are experiencing this, others are as well. It can be discouraging to be in a time like this, but know this, you are not alone, and the best fruit takes a little longer to grow.

As we look at faith and patience partnering together to bring forth fruit, we must recognize the entire book of Hebrews was written for this purpose. I encourage you, the last few days of The 40, read through Hebrews a couple chapters at a time.  This book was written to Jewish people that had converted to Chrisitanity, but were not seeing the benefits and blessings they had been told about.  Because of this, they were considering returning to religious Judaism which they were more accustomed to and familiar with.

Hebrews 6:12 “…do not become sluggish [lazy], but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

In this chapter the writer of Hebrews reveals that the great fathers of the faith, such as Abraham, inherited the promises of God by faith and patience.  The promises that God gives are not received by a one time prayer and here you go.  The greatest promises took years of enduring faith for the people of God to see take place.

Vs. 15 “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.”

Abraham being the example here, had to wait until he was well past the normal point of having children to receive the first fruit of his promise Isaac. God promised to give him more than the stars in the sky multitude of descendants and he had to patiently endure just to see Isaac.  Through faith and patience, he obtained and inherited the first part of an amazing promises that is still being fulfilled today!

Over in Hebrews 11 is the other half of the story:

Hebrews 11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Sarah also had to have a persevering faith to believe that what God said he would bring forth through her would take place. The good thing that we see here is that her unbelief, she laughed at the word of The Lord, is not recorded.  Only the faith and patience that inherits the promise is recorded in the history of heaven.

Even after Abraham and Sarah received the primary fulfillment of their promise Isaac, God tested them to see if they would still have faith that would be supernaturally obedient and endurant to give God glory through the seed.  This is what is recorded about Abraham’s faith:

Hebrews 11:17-19 By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, of whom it was said, “In Isaac your seed shall be called,” concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense.

Abraham had such an assurance in the faithfulness of God to bring about the promise that He had spoken Abraham believed God would raise Isaac from the dead to complete it. This faith was that much more incredible, because no one had ever been raised from the dead yet.  This is just one of the fathers of our faith who is a great example of inheriting the promises of God by faith and persevering patience.

My encouragement for us today is to never give up and never lose heart. Maybe you have seen some fruit already from The 40, maybe not.  Look to the faithfulness of God to bring forth the seeds that have been sown and grown during this season to bring them forth at exactly the right time.  I got news last night that my unborn nephew that was supposed to come early because of complications is doing better and being allowed to go full term.  My family has been fasting and praying for him since we found out.  His full healing may not be there yet, but praise the Lord for a good testimony.  Look for the fulfillment of your prayers, big or small, and let them spur you on to faith and patience in obtaining the promises of God and never giving up on what God has spoken!

Jesus, I desire to truly be one of Your children of faith. No matter what I may see with my eyes, I will look to You to fulfill Your promises. Help me to have continually increasing faith and patience in You that You may bring forth all that You have for me and want to do through me. May I never give up on You because You are faithful!!!

Practical –

  • Read through Hebrews over the next week
  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal promises that God has spoken to you
  • Ask for an increase in faith, patience, and obedience
  • Walk out all God has called you to do

Be blessed today to stand strong and be the person of faith you were created to be!  May you stand strong in faith and persevere through every obstacle to lay hold of the promises of God as you are propelled into the next level with Him!

Deeply Devoted 18/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

As we continue to press in toward the halfway point, we must choose to remember that Jesus is worth all that we have to give and so much more.  Whatever you have chosen to fast, it is a pleasing offering to Him.  We do it because we love Him and want to give Him even more worship in our very bodies.  May you be reminded of Jesus’ worth. He is worth giving up our very lives that He may be exalted and glorified above every idol in the land.

Today, I want to challenge you and “spur you on toward love and even greater works.”  Whatever level of devotion to The Lord you find yourself at this moment, Jesus deserves so much more.  Too many times, we may look at the people around us and gauge our level spiritually.  We are doing pretty well compared to Joe Shmoe over there.  We have been praying, fasting and seeking The Lord in a special way for almost 3 weeks now.  We must be doing pretty well.

Personally, this is one of the areas that I have to constantly war against, spiritual pride and judgment.  In order that we do not think too highly of ourselves, remember Jesus’ story of the tax collector and the Pharisee.  The Pharisee came boasting at all of his accomplishments and what he was doing for God, while the tax collector cried out for God’s mercy. Jesus says this about the tax collector:

Luke 18:13 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Let us never forget our place in The Kingdom.  All of us must come to the feet of The cross; then we are “raised up together to be seated in heavenly places with Him.”  He is worthy of more than I could ever give to Him.  Our bodies, efforts, hearts and lives are poor in comparison to what He is worth, however, I gladly give all that I have.

We must never compare ourselves to other people and gain some sort of feeling of spiritual superiority.  We are humble creatures in need of Jesus.  We should always have more that we desire to give.  For God’s pleasure, I was designed to worship.  May He forever receive even more worship from our lives.

In Luke 2, we find the story of a lady names Anna:

Luke 2:36-38 A prophetess named Anna was also in the temple court that day. She was from the Jewish tribe of Asher and the daughter of Phanuel.  Anna was an aged widow who had been married only seven years before her husband passed away. After he died she chose to worship God in the temple continually. For the past eighty-four years she had been serving God with night-and-day prayer and fasting.

After being married for only 7 years, her husband died. She did not live in regret, grief, or anger at God.  She gave deep devotion to The Lord and served night and day in the temple.  She was seeking The Lord out of a pure humble heart for more than 84 years.

What was her reward for all this? She got to see Jesus!!!

Lord, let that be my reward.  You are worth it to me!!!

You may be doing more than some, but there is always a deeper level of devotion to go to.  You can never make God do anything, but you must desire to see the deep secret places of God.  Imagine the depths of the Lord that few have been able to reach because they cannot go the distance or give up the junk that is in the way.  May this be the cry of your heart, “I will give up the junk in deep devotion to Jesus so that I may gain access to the deepest places with Him!”

Jesus, I want to see Your face.  I desire to hear Your voice.  I long for new revelations of Your love.  You are the source from which all things flow.  If I have to give up everything to see You, You are worth it! May this ever be the longing of my heart.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal and remove any spiritual pride
  • Ask for revelation of Jesus’ worth
  • Commit to a deeper level of devotion
  • Obey whatever Holy Spirit speaks

Be blessed with new revelations of Jesus’ worth and the desire and ability to advance to deeper levels of devotion with Him.  May you access the deepest place with Him that few ever find!

The Importance of The One (Southeast Asia)

I have been back in the states for a few days now, but it is still almost unreal where I have gone and what God has done with me. For me, a normal person who said “Yes, I will follow”, it is almost unbelievable what God has done. After a week, 10 teams of three and four came back with an offering to the Lord of 4,612 souls. This is not including the healing, encouragement, and freedom that was ministered to countless people, churches, and other organizations. I praise God that I was able to contribute an offering to give glory to His name!!!

As I think back to some of the most powerful encounters with what God did over the trip, I am reminded of the importance of stopping for the one. All throughout Scripture, Jesus is teaching and ministering to large crowds of people, but is frequently interrupted by the one. One person needs some special attention, healing, freedom, or salvation. When this happens, Jesus does not ignore them and continue on to minister to the crowd, but gives them as much love, compassion, and care as the large crowds. He takes the time to minister to the one.

Even though we literally saw thousands of people come to know the Lord, the most powerful times were when God brought the one. The time I felt the most powerful move of God was for one person. God orchestrated things for me to preach at an evening service in a large church. The pastor of this church had some personal problems, but had still invited me to come and speak. Before even going, I was told not to expect anyone to come forward for an invitation time because it was culture for them to commit to follow Jesus later during a personal meeting with the pastor.

As I worshipped, I felt the presence of God in a mighty way, and as I spoke the word, I was experiencing part of His heart of compassion for the people. Although it has rarely happened, God moved me to tears as I called for His lost sons and daughters to come to their Good Father. No one moved, but I knew I was here for this purpose so I continued to press in. After some time, one lone girl in pink came down and knelt at the altar. She broke the cultural expectations, in front of over 100 people, and courageously came to The Good Father. Not too long after that three more came. I was so overcome, I could not even lead them in a prayer, but left that to the translator to do. As I went down and prayed for each one, the floor was wet with the tears of the this teenage girl. She remained there weeping for the whole ministry time as we prayed for the sick. Afterwards, the over abundance of joy that was exuding out of her was evidence that she had been changed. This is why I was there, for this one girl. The others were just a bonus from God for my obedience.

You may not be called at this moment to go and evangelize on a street corner to dozens of people or preach in a church or conference to hundreds or thousands. However, you are called to the one who does not know. One neighbor, family member, friend, or co-worker is who you are called to speak to. One cashier needs to hear the Truth. One worker in a store has been prepared to receive. One person at the park is hurting and in need. That is who you are called to no matter who you are.

I encourage you today, begin to look around you for the one who is hurting, lost, in need. Pray for them, then open your mouth and speak the truth that is in you. As you are faithful to shine the light that is in you, God will be faithful to bring more to you. Never forget, at one time, you were the one that needed someone to speak the truth to you and to be shown the heart of a Good Father. May God bless you to be the one to minister His heart to the one today, this week, and for the rest of your life!!!

Matthew 18:14 So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones be lost.

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

Good & Strong

Daily Encouragement –

Are you a good person? Do you do good things? Are you clean and pure? Are you able to stand strong?

Only I am truly good and strong! Without Me, no one can be either. All others fall short. Come to Me! Come to the fountain of life! Come and wash! Come and be cleansed by the very blood of Jesus!

All the “great” things you do are worth nothing if your heart is dirty or impure. Only I can make you righteous! Even after you have washed and made yourself clean, you must walk away from the evil and come to Me. Learn from Me to do good. Let me fill you with strength and boldness to walk unswervingly in The Kingdom. Fight with Me to build The Kingdom and never turn aside to things of this world.

Come with Me to the battle for all mankind. No spectators or bystanders are allowed! It is time to be the warrior for My Kingdom I have called you to be! Come with Me! I love you My child!!!

Isaiah 1:16-17 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil; Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.”

Help Me… You’re My Only Hope!!!

Daily Encouragement –

What are you waiting on? Do you need freedom, healing, life, encouragement, saving, mercy…? What are you hoping will do this for you?

Do not despair! Do not lose hope! I am here to be everything you need! I am here to be the compassion and mercy that you need. You will not be consumed or destroyed because this is who I Am!

Come to Me! I am your reward, your portion! I am your only hope! No other person or thing can bring the freedom you need. I have come to set every captive free. There is no freedom, no life, no hope…nothing without Me!

Seek Me! Hope in Me! Hunger and wait expectantly for Me and My salvation!!! Lift your heart and hands to Me and watch Me work! Give yourself to Me completely and watch Me do a work in you and with you that will astound the world!!! I love you My child!!!

Lamentations 3:22-23  “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

False Profits

Daily Encouragement –

Do you want to be profitable this year? Do you want to be a person of renown, praise, and glory? Do you want to be truly Mine? I want all these things for you and so much more! It may not always seem like I have your best interests at heart, but My way is always better than the way of the world. Follow Me!!!

So many have tried to walk following their own desires, fulfilling their own lusts, and doing whatever it takes to turn a profit. All these have fallen by the wayside. They have all come to nothing. They may have seemed to profit for a time, but they cannot have anything of real value if they have not followed Me.

What I have to give is profit for all eternity, not just a century or two. I am continually calling you to follow Me into The Eternal Kingdom and profit together with all I want to give. You must follow Me or you can profit nothing! I love you My child!!! Follow Me!!!

Jeremiah 13:10-11“This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing. 11 For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’”

Seek & Find

Daily Encouragement –

What are you seeking? Whom are you really seeking? Are you looking for a sign? A wonder? Or just to please yourself? Too many times, you are seeking the wrong thing or the wrong person. If you search hard enough, you will always find what you are looking for, but what are you really looking for?

Do not search for the living among the dead!!! You may fool yourself or be deceived into looking to things of this world for life. I assure you; there is only death in them. Whom are you seeking?

If you are looking for the author of life, do not look the way of the world. Destroy any self-seeking in yourself, and look to Me for all the life you will ever need. Life eternal. I have so much waiting for you to search out.

Seek Me! Draw near to Me! Press in to Me, and receive My life eternal right now!!! I love you My child!!!

Luke 24:5 “Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
