I Need Help! 26/40

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerate and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement.

Here we are on day 26.  Let’s remember to continue to walk in humility, repentance, and constant prayer as we move toward the completion of week four. This is not where we have started and this is not where we end.  We are right in the middle of where God wants us to be.  You can do it!  Go ahead and press on through it!

In a place of humility, as well as being strengthened by Holy Spirit, you must never be afraid to ask for help. The individual self-sustaining mentality especially in The West is that you must do it yourself, and it is a shame and disgrace to ask for help.  However,  we all get to a point beyond what we can do in our own strength, physically and spiritually, and that is when we must go to The Lord and others to ask for help.  It should never be an issue when we ask for help as long as we are pressing in to The Lord and seeking Him. Then, when we ask for help, we are asking others to press in to The Lord with us and help us out with what they can do in the physical or spiritual.

Even when we are being obedient to The Lord and doing everything right, we will still need help to overcome the insurmountable obstacles of the world. We go to God first, but must not overlook the fact that God has placed us where we are in community with others to help us.

Jehoshaphat was king of Judah at a time when it was not exactly popular to serve God. He reigned in Judah at the same time as King Ahab and Jezebel in Israel. His righteousness and faithfulness caused him to outlive the rulers of Israel’s wickedness

Jehoshaphat is walking with The Lord and bringing great spiritual reformation to Judah so, of course, the blessing and favor of God is upon him and he has no problems.  Right?  Let’s look at what takes place in today’s reading:

2 Chronicles 20:2 Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, from Syria; and they are in Hazazon Tamar” (which is En Gedi).

Three pagan kings see the blessing of God on Jehoshaphat and gather together to come plunder and destroy him and all of Judah.  A message is brought to him that there is a great multitude coming against him.

Vs. 3-4 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. So Judah gathered together to ask help from the Lord; and from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord .

Jehoshaphat was a real man, and when this great multitude came against him, the enemy tried to bring in a crippling spirit of fear to overwhelm him before the battle even took place. He was not without fear, but recognizing his fear, Jehoshaphat set himself to seek the Lord.  Then, he gathered together all of Judah to humble themselves in prayer and fasting in asking The Lord for help.  This was the proper response.  Jehoshaphat goes to God himself and realizes this is bigger than just him.  Because of this he calls the whole land to help him in seeking The Lord together. There is great power that comes from seeking The Lord together with others.  That is one reason why we are joining together as a community, literally all over the world, seeking The Lord as one.

During this time of prayer, fasting, and seeking The Lord together, Holy Spirit comes upon Jahaziel and the word of God comes forth:

Vs. 15 And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

God uses Jahaziel to strengthen and encourage not just Jehoshaphat, but the whole assembly not to fear. Because they have come to God together and placed the situation in His hands, He will now take care of it.  Judah got what they were looking for, but they did not leave and get back to their daily work they had forsaken to come together.  They continued in humility and worshiped The Lord.

Vs. 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord .

They worshiped before the victory took place. They chose to worship at the simple word that was brought forth. Even beyond this, they decided it was time to put true faith into action.  If this is God’s battle, we are going to do something truly radical.

Vs. 20-21 …Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord , For His mercy endures forever.”

I want to point out that God did not tell them to send the worshippers first.  This was not a word of The Lord, but this was pure faith that God would do what He said.  The people are so assured of The Lord’s faithfulness to complete His word that they place the worshippers in front of the warriors. If this is The Lord’s battle, He will go before us and defeat the army, and we will come after him and worship him for the victory.  Somehow, the fear that once gripped Jehoshaphat has turned into faith in action as he has asked for help from God and his community.  This is the result.

Vs. 22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.

Here was God working a mighty sign and wonder for his people because they had joined together, strengthened each other, and acted in faith as one.  This was all a result because one man asked for help in the most overwhelming situation. God and his community joined together to rescue Jehoshaphat from the place of fear and helped walk with him into victory.

Here we are today, every single one of us have situations in our lives that we have been humbling ourselves, praying, fasting and seeking the Lord to change. Lost family members, demonic attacks on health, depression, fear, oppression and so many more supposedly insurmountable obstacles ominously overshadow us every day.  It is time to ask for help first from God, and also the community of faith around us that God Almighty will speak and work in a way we have not yet seen.  I encourage you, you are not alone! If you would like this community to be praying for you, please send us a message or leave a comment below.

Jesus, I need Your help! I choose to come to You as my strength and my rescue. Raise up a community of faith around me that I can join in seeking You together and that community victory may take place in mighty ways all over the world.  Help me to join with You and others in walking out faith in action and seeing Your glory manifest that we may worship You together in deeper ways than we ever thought possible!

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit for help
  • Ask Him to raise up your community of faith
  • Ask this community to join you in seeking The Lord
  • Apply faith in action to the word and promises He speaks

Be blessed today to see the God of Victory made manifest to destroy and decimate the overshadowing mountains of difficulty that have arisen around you.  May you be quick to run to Him for help.  May a community of faith arise around you to join with you in seeking The Lord and seeing His promises manifest in a special way!

Increase Expectancy 25/40

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerate and other words for the reasons behind the fast.

Here we are at day 25!  It is hard to imagine before The 40 that we could be so far in and a little over two weeks from completing the commitment God has placed in our hearts.  The spiritual benefits that come from the daily overcoming of obstacles to remain faithful in worship to The King of The Universe will one day astound us all.  Never give in to the fleshly desires now in exchange for the eternal reward that is being built up for you and everyone around you.  Let’s press on and press in together.

By this time, the weight of the impossible has probably tried to crush you or in the very least discourage you.  Several people have indicated to me this week that they were worried about me physically.  One even said that I was crazy and out of my mind.  However, as long as we are partnered with Jesus and what He has for us, I would rather be walking in the mind of Christ than my own mind.

It should not be a surprise to any of us that trusted spiritual and especially worldly influences around us do not understand the depth of what is taking place.  The God of great grace and mercy has called us out, or we have submitted to Him out of worship, in order for the impossible to take place.  When God moves, it is not understood completely by the most spiritual people we could ever think of.  We desire the perfect grace and mercy of God to be made manifest in us, our families, neighborhoods, workplaces, regions, and nations.  As much as we think we may understand Him and His ways, we do not.

It is evident, that hunger and expectation has the ability to change the situations around us.  The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48) only wanted to get close enough to touch Jesus’ garment.  She did what was illegal and could have gotten her stoned to death by pushing, maybe even crawling, through a crowd of people and just to put her “unclean” hands on Jesus.  It was her hunger and expectation that drove her to do what others would not.  This was the faith that healed and restored her.  This is where we are today. We are all believing for the “impossible” things to happen for the glory of God!

But what if these things do not happen during or after The 40?

What if we go through The 40 and do not see anything change?

What if our hunger and expectation go seemingly unrewarded?

Take heart, my brothers and sisters, this will align us on the same level as one “after God’s own heart”, David.  David was hand picked by the Lord and anointed to be king long before it actually happens. David has to live a life of character and actually doing the job of the king, like challenging Goliath, before he ever saw the promotion that God had anointed him for.

Eventually, David became king and did great for a while. However, it seems He had a weakness for women.  Because David decided to give in to his weakness just one time, it led him to deception, adultery, murder, and pain.  The prophet Nathan reveals that God has seen it all and finally David repents.  What is the judgment for all of this sin? David’s recently born son would die. This is where we pick up in the scripture reading for today:

2 Samuel 12:15-16 And the Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill. David therefore pleaded with God for the child, and David fasted and went in and lay all night on the ground.

Even though David knew he deserved the judgment and punishment that God had said, he increases his expectation that God’s great mercy and grace is greater than his sin.  David comes in humility, prayer, and fasting and cries out to God for mercy for his baby.  He does this for 7 days until the baby dies.  His servants do not even want to tell him that his baby has died because they are unsure what he will do when he finds out the worst has happened.  David’s hopes, desires, and expectations for the life of his baby, because of the great mercy of God, are about to be crushed.

What will his response be?

I do not know what the physicians were telling him and Bathsheba, but God had told him the baby would die.  That seems to be a very definite thing to me.  Surely, trusted and godly people came in after a few days of prayer and fasting and felt the need to prepare him for the worst.  There was no reason for him to expect that God would do anything different than He Himself had said.  However, David increased expectation in The God of grace and mercy. Throwing himself at the feet of The Great Shepherd and walking through the valley of the shadow of death, David is rewarded with seemingly nothing.  Here is David’s response when he finds out this baby is dead:

Vs. 20 So David arose from the ground, washed and anointed himself, and changed his clothes; and he went into the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then he went to his own house; and when he requested, they set food before him, and he ate.

He cleans himself up, puts on his best worship attire, and goes to The house of The Lord and worships.  Great expectations unmet did not crush David and cause him to turn away, but causes him to be able to praise through the pain of unmet expectation.  This does not make sense to anyone and they ask him about it:

Vs. 21 Then his servants said to him, “What is this that you have done? You fasted and wept for the child while he was alive, but when the child died, you arose and ate food.”

His expectations and prayers were unmet, and he chose to worship and adore God anyway because he knew His God. The Great God of Mercy and Grace was still the same whether David got what he desired or not.

Vs. 22-23 And he said, “While the child was alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who can tell whether the Lord will be gracious to me, that the child may live?’ But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

David knew the value in hunger and increasing expectation to work mighty things in the heavenly realm.  It had not happened the way he wanted.  However, because of a right heart of hunger and expectation to pray the greatest prayer he could think of, he was prepared to praise even through the pain.

Immediately after this, Solomon is born and God names him Jedidiah which means beloved of the Lord. David’s hunger and expectation caused a blessing to take place that was not the way David prayed or wanted, but came about at a different time and different way.  This is the kind of hunger, expectation, and faith that I want! No matter the difficulties, trials, and impossibilities that we bring to the Lord during this time, may we all increase our hunger and expectation to see the impossible made manifest into reality. Even if these things do not take place how we want or think they should, we must pray for the best and cry out to God.  Today, increase your hunger and expectation and may this increase your worship through both met and unmet expectations.

Jesus, increase my hunger and expectation today. I want to have faith for the impossible miracles to take place no matter what I see or hear.  Help me to trust You to bring about the greatest good as my expectations are increased, and I cry out to You for the greatest good. Help me to never be discouraged or back down from believing the best no matter what I may see with my eyes or hear with my ears.

Practical –

  • Take a good look at what you are praying for.
  • Ask Holy Spirit to help you increase expectation and hunger to believe in the greatest possible good
  • Ask for strength, grace, and mercy for the faith to continually believe for the impossible
  • Ask for worship and fresh faith to replace discouragement or unbelief that tries to come in

Be blessed with an exponential increase of expectation and hunger to continuously believe for what seems impossible to man. May all discouragement and unbelief be replaced with worship and even more increased expectation because of new revelations of The Great God of Mercy and Grace in your life!

Declare The Glory!!! 17/40

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerate and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement

As we approach the halfway mark of The 40, know this, God is with you.  He has promised to “never leave you or forsake you”.  Another tactic of the enemy to pull you out of The 40 is to make you feel alone.  I pray that you are encouraged by the community and words that are being shared here.  It is always easier to share struggles with someone who is going through everything right alongside you, and that is why we are here.  However, Jesus is even closer and able to help far more than those in your spiritual family.  Never forget, Jesus is here to help, love, and support you no matter what. I encourage you today to focus on the goodness of God.  He is faithful to us and every one of the promises he has spoken over us.  He blesses us with His abounding grace and abundant mercy. He overwhelms us with the gifts of heaven, and too often, we forget to be thankful.

In some way, we think that we deserve for God to be this good to us or that we have earned it by our right living.  We must learn to be thankful at all times and declare the wonderful works of God continually.  What did Jesus say about this? Jesus reveals something interesting when He is told to make his disciples be silent:

Luke 19:40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

The rocks in creation who have done nothing but sit there from the beginning of time are thankful for who God is and would cry out giving glory to God in their own way if they were able.  How much more should we worship Him, who have been given the wisdom to see the glory and the life to tell of Him?  David also has some interesting things to say along these lines:

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Creation itself is continually declaring the glory of God in the day to day glory that surrounds us all.  Sadly, we get so used to seeing this beauty of nature that it no longer impresses us.  The awesomeness of a sunrise is eclipsed by the fact that we have to get up early again and go to work.  The majesty of a rain storm is drowned out by our complaints that now we are going to get wet and be uncomfortable.  We are tired and inward focused and rarely catch the beauty of God’s creation declaring His glory.  Selfishness and inconvenience often cause us to overlook the glory of God being manifest in our midst, and the realization that we, as His creation, should be giving Him glory as well!

After an extended time of bearing the punishment of their people by being in captivity in a foreign land, the people of Israel return to the land of their inheritance.  Everything is broken down and in disrepair.  Nehemiah leads the people into a time of returning to the law.  They read the law for seven days straight and agree to obey it.  They set about to keep the feasts and worship God.  This is when we see the people worshiping God in a special way:

Nehemiah 9:1-3 Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, in sackcloth, and with dust on their heads. Then those of Israelite lineage separated themselves from all foreigners; and they stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.

The people have been reading the word for an extended time, and this causes them to come to God in worship by repentance, confession, prayer, and fasting.  They read more of the word and then worship more, and then they begin to bless the Lord:

Nehemiah 9:5-6 “Blessed be Your glorious name, Which is exalted above all blessing and praise! You alone are the LordYou have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

Your fasting is worship to God.  Your prayers are worship to God.  Your repentance and confession is declaring the glory of God.  As we spend time seeking Him and pressing into all that He has for us, true worship comes forth from our hearts and our lives that declares the glory of God in a way that no other thing can.

How can the choice to give up a legitimate pleasure as a sacrifice give glory to God?

By this, we are saying, “Jesus, I love you more!  You are worth it!”  What joy comes to The Father’s heart when his children voluntarily give Him a gift from what little they have to give!  This is true worship and truly declares the glory of God to all the hosts of heaven.  Today, we choose to worship God once again with the sacrifice of our humble hearts!

Jesus, I choose to declare Your glory today.  In my thoughts, words, and actions, help me to recognize and declare Your glory.  Help me to continually give you worship in everything I say and do.  In all I do, may I glorify Your Name!

Practical –

  • Set aside some special time to watch a sunrise, a sunset, or gaze at the stars in the night sky
  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal the glory that creation is declaring to you in this
  • Commit to worship God in thought, word, and action today

Be blessed with the God-given ability to recognize the glory of God in the tiniest of details.  May your very life declare the glory of God in all you think, say, and do!

His Strength in Your Weakness 15/40

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerate and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement.

As week 3 begins, remember to stay focused on Jesus and His Kingdom.  The longer the fast continues, the more the enemy will try to take your focus from Him and turn it toward yourself.  As long as you are focused on yourself, the enemy has an opportunity to make you stumble.  Continuously look to Jesus, and receive all the strength, hope, and life that He has for you!

If you have not come to know this already, we are all very weak and fleshly creatures.  A little matter of giving up some food and sleep for just over a month should not be that big of a deal.  However, we are truly creatures of comfort from our very birth.  We want what we want, and it becomes a big problem when we cannot have it.  Suddenly, our small things become huge, and minor irritations become major problems.

For years, we have strengthened our flesh by giving it whatever it wants. It is like a spoiled little child used to getting whatever they ask for.  When one simple comfort is removed, it becomes the worst issue imaginable.  Even people around you, that do not know you are fasting, may notice a change.  You may become quicker to lose your temper or react negatively to minor inconveniences especially at the beginning of a fast.  By the beginning of the fast, I mean the first 39 days of The 40, if you are me.  These are the times we discover our true need for Jesus.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

We need the strength of Jesus not the strength of self.  He did the hard part so we would not have to.  No matter how strong you may think that you are, Jesus proved Himself to be stronger.  Jesus easily defeated hell, death, and the grave.  We should become so close to Jesus at this time, because we are having to walk in His strength and not our own.  It is okay for me to be weak because, now, He can show Himself strong in me.  I rest in the fact that if Jesus is my strength when I am weak, He can use me no matter how I feel.

Several years ago, God allowed me to travel to Dharmapuri, India.  Here, God privileged me to minister in different ways to the Tamil people of the region.  My friend Sage and I stayed in a building above a church and orphanage.  While here, we were asked to do a program for the boys that lived in the building that were between the ages of 4 and 12.  As we prayed on what we were to do, my friend heard Holy Spirit say that we were supposed to teach on and pray to break off generational curses.  I was very unsure about that.  I have helped my mother minister to children many times and that was not something we had ever done before.  Frankly, most adults would not even be comfortable receiving such a teaching.

One of my gifts is teaching and speaking the word so I agreed to teach on this and let my friend lead the ministry, prayer, and application of the word, more his specialty.  What proceeded was what seemed to be one of the most difficult, dry, devoid of Holy Spirit teachings I have ever given in my life.  It felt like a very forced, difficult struggle that was going nowhere.  As I taught, I had the thought that if I was sitting there, I would have probably fallen asleep. After I had finished the teaching, Sage began to pray and minister breaking off generational curses.  Suddenly, something happened that is caught on video.

Friday Fire in India Part 1

God comes and pours himself out upon these young orphans.  Almost every one of them falls under the power of God’s freedom.

Friday Fire in India Part 2

When they begin to awaken, they are praying for God to be their mother and father and for Him to touch them.  They are speaking the wonderful works of God.

Friday Fire in India Part III

By this time, probably an hour and a half from when Sage started praying for them, the ladies had come and were trying to awaken them and get them up to go eat dinner.  This is about 45 minutes after they have been directed to go eat that they are staying and crying out to God to continue to do what He is doing.

The entire time this is taking place, I am completely astounded because I do not feel The Holy Spirit moving in the slightest way.  I am seeing an astounding move of Holy Spirit with my very eyes, not the least of which is young boys refusing to eat just so they can get more of what God has to offer, and i am still feeling completely nothing.  To this day, all I know is that we were obedient, and God did the work.  I had nothing to do with it.  All glory goes to Him and Him alone.

Jesus, I thank you that Your power is made manifest through me as I yield my weak, lowly, humble frame to You.  Use me for Your glory and Your purpose, for of myself, I can do nothing.

Practical –

  • Acknowledge your weakness
  • Ask Holy Spirit to minister God’s strength to you in your weakness
  • Yield yourself to be used by Him, even in your weakness
  • Be obedient to whatever He calls you to do

Be blessed to know your need for God and place yourself in His hands.  May you be used mightily for The Kingdom no matter how weak or insignificant you may feel.

What’s The Secret? 5/40

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerateand other words for the reason behind the fast as well as daily encouragement.

Having completed day 4, you have given a tithe of the 40 to the Lord.  This first fruit may have been difficult to achieve, but Father God is pleased with this sweet offering. Today, I would like to reveal the secret of The 40, and why it is important to set apart a special period of fasting and prayer for this amount of time.

This is an excerpt from The Prophetic Whisper by Richard Gazowsky – “I am going to show you a secret vulnerability in Satan’s kingdom. His weakness is in the flies.” Later that day, we went to the Carmel Public Library and looked up the word “fly”…I discovered that the meaning of Beelzebub, one of the names of Satan is, “Lord of the Flies”…Scientists have discovered that flies have a reproductive period that lasts from four hours to over forty days, depending on the species. When pest controllers go to eradicate flies in a certain area, they spray pesticides every day for a forty-day period. If they destroy the reproductive cycles of presently existing flies, they can kill off a whole generation of future flies. I then saw what God was trying to show me…if a Christian will pray consistently for a forty day period he will be able to conquer most satanic strongholds in his life.’

This revelation was astounding to me when I discovered it. No wonder we see all the major heroes of the faith fasting and praying The 40.  They were systematically destroying the reproductive rights of the enemy in their lives.  They desired to walk in The Fullness of The Kingdom and would not allow anything to hold them back.

Most of us know the story of David and Goliath.  The giant spews his venom in 1 Samuel 17:8-11.  By doing this, he is reproducing this fear from his lips into the hearts of Saul and the army.   How long did he do this? Verse 16 confirms for forty days.

In Genesis 7 it rained forty days that the earth would be cleansed of its filth.

In Deuteronomy 8 The Israelites wandered in the desert forty years to destroy the unbelief of a generation.

In Deuteronomy 9:11 Moses fasted The 40 to receive the ten commandments.

In Deuteronomy 9:18 Moses fasts The 40 again to intercede for the salvation of a wicked people.

Elijah was sustained in 1 Kings 19 for The 40 to break the curse of Jezebel in the land.

It is possible that the people of Nineveh in Jonah 3 fasted and prayed The 40 for God’s mercy and grace.

Jesus fasted The 40 in preparation to overcome the enemy’s temptations.

The secret of The 40 is to overcome every demonic stronghold in your life and stop it from reproducing that you may truly be propelled into all that God has for you!!! This is why the enemy will use any means necessary to keep you from The 40.  Often, the concern of family and friends will be used as pressure to break your commitment to The Lord. Also, be careful of the enemy using the care and hospitality of others to lure you away from the power of The 40 being manifested in your life!

Jesus, give us the ability to go The 40 and receive the right to cut off the head of the Goliaths in our lives. We desire to be propelled into our destinies by the total defeat of the enemy!

Practical –

Read 1 Samuel 17 and meditate on the power of The 40 to destroy the reproductive rights of the enemy.

Study the lives of those who did The 40 and how they changed history.

Be blessed to endure throughout The 40 that you may destroy the enemy and accelerate The Kingdom of God in and through your life!

What’s It Worth To You

You are invited to join us for the Celebrate to Accelerate fast! Please review Celebrate to Accelerate and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!”

Today, I will choose to be thankful and bless The Lord no matter how my body may feel.  Right now, if you have given up food, it is normal for your body to go through some of the same symptoms of withdrawal.  Too much salt, sugar, and caffeine in our daily lives will cause headaches, nausea, achy limbs, a general feeling of weakness… as these are removed, and the body rids itself of toxins.  The good news is that these fleshly oppositions should pass today or tomorrow completely. If you have decided to participate in this fast, the only question now is –

  What’s it worth to you?

In our daily lives, we rarely have to give up anything of true value.  However, when we do, we must calculate if it is truly worth it.  There is a great difference between when you look into your purse or wallet and decide what you will pay for a shirt, a book, or a meal; and when you must consider the price you would pay for an education, a car, or a house.

An object is only worth as much as we are willing to give for it.  Careful thought is put into how much a man will pay for a ring because you cannot put a price on the one that you really love. As we fast and go through the daily troubles and temptations (i.e. your boss buying your favorite lunch for everyone the first day of the fast) let us look to Jesus and consider how much He is worth to us.

Maybe this is where you find yourself today: 2 Corinthians 4:8-11 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Troubles, persecutions, and the death of the enemy may come upon us in many different ways, but even as our flesh is delivered to death it is a necessary sacrifice to manifest the life of Jesus in our flesh!  May the life of Jesus shine out of you today and bring glory to The Father!

Here is something else to think about. In the middle of a discourse on denying your flesh, Jesus asks these two questions in Mark 8:36-37: For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

What is a soul truly worth?  Jesus bled, suffered, and died that your soul might be completely set free.  That is how much your soul is worth to Him. How much is Jesus truly worth to You? How much do you value the lost souls around you?

Jesus, I am willing to do whatever it takes and give up whatever it costs that you may be glorified and that lost souls may come into Your Kingdom!!! Help me to truly value You not just in my thoughts and words but in my daily actions of obedience!

Practical –

• Read Mark 8:34-38 and contemplate the value of a soul.

• Make sure you have included a list of lost or backslidden people in your daily prayer time.

Talitha Koum: Time for Victorious Awakening

These past five days have been foundation-shaking and exposing for the Body of Christ. On Saturday, Bethel worship leader, Kalley Heiligenthal and her husband, Andrew’s two year old daughter, Olive, suddenly stopped breathing and was pronounced dead by the doctors.

As heartbreaking as the situation was, precious Olive’s parents issued a clarion call to the Global Body of Christ to boldly pray and contend faith-filled prayers that call forth the Resurrection Power Christ won for us through His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. For five days, we have joined with them and hundreds of thousands of believers from across the nations to dare to believe that God really is Who He says He is…the Resurrected King, Whose very breath, authority, power, and Spirit is living on the inside of us.

I have found myself undone and simply messed up at how God is using this situation to jolt awake the Body of Christ to awaken from her slumber and to arise to His call, His light shining upon her. I have seen a beautiful unity arise from the ashes of what the enemy intended for defeat; and a unified Body lift up praise and worship to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Worship is our warfare against every demonic principality and worship is our weapon against every foe that dare raise its hand against the Lord.

I must confess, I have found my own faith examined during these days. We have been through a number of situations in our own lives where we have warred and fought for the resurrection power of God to touch those dearest to us. For reasons we do not understand, we didn’t receive our loved ones back from the dead then. I immediately went into fasting, warring, and prayer mode upon hearing the report on Sunday. I took hold of His commission to me as a guardian of His Little Ones and grasped the hem of His garment; determined to see Olive’s name erased from His list of His Little Ones whose lives had been snuffed out by the enemy before the fulfillment of their days.

I discerned it as an obvious attack against His Little Ones and the Body; for by the evening, I had recorded five accounts from Saturday morning to Sunday evening of those who either died suddenly or whose lives were hanging in the balance.

As the days draw on, the Global Body continues to grow and rally together to call forth Life to Olive, that the breath of Victorious Awakening enter her lungs. I could smell the stench of the enemy creeping in to whisper doubt and unbelief as the situation appeares more “impossible” as time goes forward, placing a clock on God’s miracle power. I found my faith challenged to dare to believe that though I didn’t see the answers I cried out for in the past, that HE IS THE RESURRECTION and it’s not my idea to Resurrect. When push comes to shove, my job is to believe, decree, and declare; and let Him do the rest. I am going all in to fasten my line of faith to Jesus and believe with all I am that HE IS FAITHFUL AND HE IS LIFE.

This is Awakening.

The Body is shaking and hell is trembling. Surely, the world will see the undeniable power and realty of God in a way it has never seen. I genuinely believe the word He gave me a few months ago, The Great Sift for the Shift: The Call to Holiness, is coming forth in an even greater way to prepare the Bride for her Groom in the coming days.

While praying Tuesday morning, I heard the Lord say:

December 17, 2019

“I am continuing to sift and separate, to shake and reorder. I am continuing to expose unbelief so that faith can take its rightful place in My Body. For many, they have cast their lines of faith on the wrong side of the boat and have caught nothing. I am releasing a corporate opportunity to unlatch the cords of faith from the fruitless works; and to recast them in fruitful waters where My Spirit is brooding over.

I am releasing the call for My Bride to fasten her faith to Me and My promises. There is no room in My Kingdom for double-mindedness, doubt, and unbelief. I am ekballo-ing those barriers out of these waters so that My Bride may receive what has been prepared and promises that she may receive her reward.

I am reawakening the governmental authority in My Bride again. She has forgotten what she has been given authority and dominion over — what I victoriously and rightfully restored when I became the firstborn of many from the dead. I am reminding her of WHO she is and WHOSE she is! She must have her faith fastened to Me in order to rule and reign in her position and authority.”

Hebrews‬ ‭11:33‬-35 (TPT‬‬)
Through faith’s power they conquered kingdoms and established true justice. Their faith fastened onto their promises and pulled them into reality!
It was faith that shut the mouth of lions, put out the power of raging fire, and caused many to escape certain death by the sword. Although weak, their faith imparted power to make them strong!
Faith sparked courage within them and they became mighty warriors in battle, pulling armies from another realm into battle array.
Faith-filled women saw their dead children raised in resurrection power.
Yet it was faith that enabled others to endure great atrocities. They were stretched out on the wheel and tortured, and didn’t deny their faith in order to be freed, because they longed for a more honorable and glorious resurrection!

When looking at the Greek, verse 33 literally means:

The divine persuasion and confidence / to contend for a prize through intense warfare, to endeavor with strenuous zeal; to descend from a higher abode to a lower plane to cast down that which exalts itself above the Kingdom of God / to exercise Christ’s authority and dominion living on the inside of us over the kingdom of darkness; and to establish the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth / to accomplish a task or assignment through action / to establish divine righteousness and to deliver the verdict of justice through God’s judicial approval / to strike or hit the target, or reach the mark with pinpoint accuracy / the divine assurance of His good promises.

What have you fastened your faith to? Are there promises you’ve yet to see fulfilled? Keep pressing in and pressing through, to see your breakthrough!

‭‭John‬ ‭21:4-7‬ ‭(AMP‬‬)
As morning was breaking, Jesus [came and] stood on the beach; however, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. So Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish [to eat along with your bread]?” They answered, “No.”
And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat (starboard) and you will find some.” So they cast [the net], and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great catch of fish.
Then that disciple (John) whom Jesus loved (esteemed) said to Peter, “It is the Lord!”
So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer tunic (for he was stripped for work) and threw himself into the sea [and swam ashore].

Sometimes it takes a simple adjustment in our faith and in our lives to become perfectly aligned with the Father’s will for us, in us, and through us. At times our vision can become askew through life circumstances, doubt, unbelief, and when we are unable to see past what we perceive in the natural that appears contrary to His promises and Word. When realignment takes place, we are thrust into the abundant harvest He always designed for us and our eyes see Him and His Glory.

In Mark 5, Jairus, the synagogue official came to Jesus asking Him to heal his daughter who was sick and on her deathbed. Then, messenger from his household appear delivering the news that the girl had died.

Mark‬ ‭5:36, 38-40‬ ‭(TPT‬‬)
But Jesus refused to listen to what they were told and said to the Jewish official, “Don’t yield to fear. All you need to do is to keep on believing.”

When they arrived at the home of the synagogue ruler, they encountered a noisy uproar among the people, for they were all weeping and wailing. Upon entering the home, Jesus said to them, “Why all this grief and weeping? Don’t you know the girl is not dead but merely asleep?” Then everyone began to ridicule and make fun of Him. But He threw them all outside.

Then He took the child’s father and mother and His three disciples and went into the room where the girl was lying.

The story continues with Jesus laying hands on the girl and speaking, “talitha koum”, which means, “little girl (or little lamb), wake up from the sleep of death.” Immediately, she awakens and is resurrected!

The world may look on and see all of this worship, contending, and bold faith for Olive’s resurrection as foolishness; but He uses what the world calls foolish to confound the wise. We must follow the example Jesus set. He refused to listen to the report that brought death, that spoke in opposition to the will of God. He discerned the girl had died prematurely and she still had a destiny to fulfill.

In fact, He declared Awakening! He gave the invitation to believe again, to come up higher, and to cast down fear! And to all the mockers and scoffers, He kicked them out, making no room for them!

In the Greek, it is the word, “EKBALLO”, which means, “to cast forth, hurl forth, thrust forth, with violence.” It is the same word used when Jesus said, “I cast out demons by the finger of God…” (Luke 11:20), and when He said to His disciples in Matthew 9:38, “As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to thrust out many more reapers to harvest His grain!”

Are there promises in your life that appear to have died prematurely? Has doubt, fear, and unbelief crept in and disengaged or derailed you from the manifestation of His Glory revealed in your life? Refuse to give ear to the report of the enemy, and kick out every opposing force in your life, leaving no room for them to hinder the will of God! Dare to believe that every word He has spoken will not return void and without bearing fruit! Dare to dream again and trust in His timing! Decree and declare the Word of the Lord until you find yourself saying, “It happened just as He promised!”

I end with this: All day yesterday and today I have heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see the Glory of God?!”

He IS the Resurrection and the Life! You need only BELIEVE!
