Deeply Devoted 18/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

As we continue to press in toward the halfway point, we must choose to remember that Jesus is worth all that we have to give and so much more.  Whatever you have chosen to fast, it is a pleasing offering to Him.  We do it because we love Him and want to give Him even more worship in our very bodies.  May you be reminded of Jesus’ worth. He is worth giving up our very lives that He may be exalted and glorified above every idol in the land.

Today, I want to challenge you and “spur you on toward love and even greater works.”  Whatever level of devotion to The Lord you find yourself at this moment, Jesus deserves so much more.  Too many times, we may look at the people around us and gauge our level spiritually.  We are doing pretty well compared to Joe Shmoe over there.  We have been praying, fasting and seeking The Lord in a special way for almost 3 weeks now.  We must be doing pretty well.

Personally, this is one of the areas that I have to constantly war against, spiritual pride and judgment.  In order that we do not think too highly of ourselves, remember Jesus’ story of the tax collector and the Pharisee.  The Pharisee came boasting at all of his accomplishments and what he was doing for God, while the tax collector cried out for God’s mercy. Jesus says this about the tax collector:

Luke 18:13 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Let us never forget our place in The Kingdom.  All of us must come to the feet of The cross; then we are “raised up together to be seated in heavenly places with Him.”  He is worthy of more than I could ever give to Him.  Our bodies, efforts, hearts and lives are poor in comparison to what He is worth, however, I gladly give all that I have.

We must never compare ourselves to other people and gain some sort of feeling of spiritual superiority.  We are humble creatures in need of Jesus.  We should always have more that we desire to give.  For God’s pleasure, I was designed to worship.  May He forever receive even more worship from our lives.

In Luke 2, we find the story of a lady names Anna:

Luke 2:36-38 A prophetess named Anna was also in the temple court that day. She was from the Jewish tribe of Asher and the daughter of Phanuel.  Anna was an aged widow who had been married only seven years before her husband passed away. After he died she chose to worship God in the temple continually. For the past eighty-four years she had been serving God with night-and-day prayer and fasting.

After being married for only 7 years, her husband died. She did not live in regret, grief, or anger at God.  She gave deep devotion to The Lord and served night and day in the temple.  She was seeking The Lord out of a pure humble heart for more than 84 years.

What was her reward for all this? She got to see Jesus!!!

Lord, let that be my reward.  You are worth it to me!!!

You may be doing more than some, but there is always a deeper level of devotion to go to.  You can never make God do anything, but you must desire to see the deep secret places of God.  Imagine the depths of the Lord that few have been able to reach because they cannot go the distance or give up the junk that is in the way.  May this be the cry of your heart, “I will give up the junk in deep devotion to Jesus so that I may gain access to the deepest places with Him!”

Jesus, I want to see Your face.  I desire to hear Your voice.  I long for new revelations of Your love.  You are the source from which all things flow.  If I have to give up everything to see You, You are worth it! May this ever be the longing of my heart.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal and remove any spiritual pride
  • Ask for revelation of Jesus’ worth
  • Commit to a deeper level of devotion
  • Obey whatever Holy Spirit speaks

Be blessed with new revelations of Jesus’ worth and the desire and ability to advance to deeper levels of devotion with Him.  May you access the deepest place with Him that few ever find!

Holiness Leads to Harvest 7/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

On the final day of week 1, I wanted to align our focus once again upon the things on God’s heart.  God’s heart is for all of His children to become one with Him.  Because of this, there are two things I will hone in on today.

Holiness –

Please read 2 Corinthians 6:16 -18 for context.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

God yearns for us to live and walk in increasing holiness both in body and spirit.  He requires continual advancement of purity of heart if we are to be allowed access into the secret places with Him.  Too many times, holiness and purity can seem to be some sort of stoic legalism that keeps us from doing all the “fun” stuff.  All of this supposed “fun” stuff creates barriers between us and a Holy God.  He cannot allow the filthiness of the world to enter the Holy of Holies for it would be consumed in His Holy Fire and us along with it.

It is for this reason that Father God is continually calling us to holiness that we may truly come close to Him.  The more we are cleansed from the sin and death of the world, the closer we can come to our Holy Father.  Repenting, confessing, and continuing to walk in purity and holiness give intimate access into a holy relationship between The Holy Father and His sons and daughters.  His longing is to dwell continually with us.  He craves to walk with you and Father you as true sons and daughters. Sons and daughters are forever becoming like their Father.

Harvest –

Matthew 9:36-38 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

The heart of The Father flowing through The Son caused him to see a lost humanity waiting to be gathered into His family.  What is the solution to this problem?  Pray for the laborers! God needs His representatives, His sons and daughters, to go and bring in The Great Harvest of souls.  God desires all of His children to become sons and daughters.

Immediately after this in chapter 10, Jesus sends out the disciples to do exactly what He had been doing and bring in The Harvest.  When sons and daughters draw close to The Father, they will receive His heart of compassion for the lost.  My former youth pastor calls them pre-Christians, because they have not yet come to know Jesus, but they will in Jesus’ name!!!

Read Isaiah 6:1-6 for context

Vs 7-8 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”

One final example that brings holiness and harvest together comes in the call of Isaiah.  Isaiah actively places himself in a position to receive from God.  He sees The Holiness of God and is immediately driven to repentance for himself and his people.  God is faithful to cleanse him completely.  After that, he accesses a secret conversation taking place in the heavenlies.  Having received a new heart, his desire is to immediately go for God without any information or limitation.  Our desire should be no different.  When we are touched, cleansed, and restored; our heart will be for others to receive the same no matter what kind of effort it may take from us.

Jesus, I pray that You will help me to become truly like You. I want to be free of all the filth of the world that I might have intimate access to the secret place with You.  Draw me closer than ever before even as I confess everything that has taken me far from You.

Father, transform me to have Your heart for all Your lost and wayward children.  Use me as a laborer in The Great Harvest that all the multitudes of pre-Christians may become part of Your family because of my love and obedience to You.

Practical –

  • Ask Holy Spirit to examine your life and reveal anything out of line with His Holiness.
  • Confess this and ask to be cleansed and purified by Jesus’ blood
  • Ask for The Father’s Heart of compassion for souls
  • Obey all that God asks you to say or do

Be blessed with the ability to walk in holiness and access the secret places of The Kingdom!  Be blessed to truly receive the heart of The Father and live a lifestyle laboring in The Great Harvest of souls!!!

Mass of Erupting Volcanoes

Volcán de Fuego

Volcán de Fuego Photo: Albert Dros

A little over a week ago, I awoke to see the news of the sudden eruption of the Volcán de Fuego in Guatemala and the devastation that ensued upon the Guatemalans who resided in close proximity to the volcano. My heart is broken for those who were and are continuing to be affected by the aftermath of the initial eruption, as well as with the effects of the various other volcanic eruptions that have continued over the past months.

I began to seek the Lord over the increase of the awakening of volcanoes across the earth since the beginning of the year. He reminded me of a blog post I wrote back on January 31st, Super Blue Blood Moon. As I reviewed it and the word that the Lord released, I was brought to a deeper level of focus in my prayers, even as the Lord began to release a new word regarding the mass of erupting volcanoes.

Word of the Lord on June 4, 2018:

“The rocks are crying out in a mighty crescendo and roar. The depths of the deep are rumbling and releasing groans in praise. There is an awakening from the innermost being of earth, calling forth for the simultaneous awakening of the sons and daughters of Zion. The fire of My love is rising up, bursting forth! The cloud of My Glory is rolling in. The thick smog of My Spirit is invading all of My creation, descending upon every part.

Do not overlook the obvious. What you are seeing is not just happenstance. What you are seeing is a call to awaken. Just as a volcano can be active but be in a state of slumber, many of My creation are living their lives just like these volcanoes. These are those whom I have called to join My Burning Ones in ushering in what I am preparing to release in the nations.

Now is not the time to lay down in your comforts, complacency, and ceasing!!!

I have come to cast FIRE upon the earth! Oh, that it were already set ablaze for Me! Oh, that you would see your purpose in the earth and choose to walk in it!”

Years ago, the Lord gave me my life verse that I was to live out the rest of my life by. Luke 12:49 in The Passion Translation says, “I have come to set the earth on fire. And how I long for every heart to be already ablaze with this fiery passion for God!” In The Message version, verses 49-51 are stated a bit differently, “I’ve come to start a fire on this earth—how I wish it were blazing right now! I’ve come to change everything, turn everything rightside up—how I long for it to be finished! Do you think I came to smooth things over and make everything nice? Not so. I’ve come to disrupt and confront!”

I went back and reflected on this passage after the Lord released this word to me and began to delve deeper into the innermost intentions of when Jesus made this statement and what I found was astonishing.

When Jesus said that He has come to set the world on “fire”, the literal Greek translation means the “fire of God”“transforming all that it touches into light and likeness with itself, bringing uninterrupted privilege of being transformed which happens by experiencing faith from Him.” The same fire is referred to in Leviticus 6:12-13 in which the fire of God is to be burning continuously at the entrance of the Tabernacle and it must never go out. First and foremost, Jesus came to bring His all-consuming, all-encompassing, never-ending fire upon the hearts of His creation. This fire was to be what sustains us and gives life to us. Our fire was never meant to grow cold, but to continually increase in power as He breathes His breath of life upon us.

When He said, “how I wish”, it was not an empty, unfulfilling desire. He literally meant “I will. Am willing. Intend. Design.”-“to desire, wanting what is best because someone is ready AND willing to act. The Lord extending His best offer. Desiring to birth His faith in us which also empowers, manifests His Presence.” It was never a part of His original design for us to not partake in this act of being world changers and nation-shakers. It is what we were created for. This was the dream in His heart before the foundations of the world were laid. This is His “best” for us. Are we READY AND WILLING TO ACT?

Lastly, when Jesus said that He wished it were “already” burning, He was saying, “already now, after all of this waiting. Referring to what is not strictly present but already impacts the present. Point of time preceding another, implying completion.” Can you imagine…Jesus waiting on us? Yes, Jesus IS in a sense waiting on us. Waiting on us to “WAKE UP!” and realize that He wants us to partner with Him in changing the future of nations and people! That is why Jesus says in Luke 19:40“if My followers were silenced, the very stones would break forth with praises!” (TPT)

The sum of all of creation was created to worship and praise Jesus, the only One Who is worthy of praise. Of all of creation, we are God’s chosen ones and have the unique invitation to join Him in what He is doing. Creation is truly groaning, yes, breaking forth with praise; longing for the awakening of the sons and daughters of Zion to step up into their design and to step out into the world to truly turn the world rightside up!

What you are seeing take place in the earth is so much more than just natural happenings. What is taking place in the natural is a direct reflection of what is taking place in the spiritual realm. “Do not fear what you see and what is to come,” says the Lord, “but rather rise up out of your squishy comforts and accept who you were designed to be and walk in it! The world is waiting on you, I am waiting for you to join Me in bringing My plans to completion!”

It’s My Way…

Daily Encouragement –

Are you satisfied with life? Do you have all you need? Are you walking so you will not stumble and fall? Do you really know Me?

Sadly, at some point, or at many points, you will choose to walk in your own way. If you are walking in your own way, you will become dissatisfied, needy, you will begin to falter, and feel alone. This is a miserable existence, and I do not want this to be the story of your life or even a chapter in it.

Come to Me! Return to Me! Acknowledge the foolishness of your own way, and walk with Me!

Walking with Me, you will have all you need, and I am walking with you to help you. I am here to satisfy the deepest longing of your heart. I am close and will reveal all of Who I am so we will grow in relationship together.

I am willing! I am ready! I am waiting for you! Come to Me! Come closer! Let’s walk together! I love you My child!!!

Jeremiah 31:9 “They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father…”

V. 18-19 “… Restore me, and I will return, For You are the Lord my God. Surely, after my turning, I repented; And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh; I was ashamed, yes, even humiliated, Because I bore the reproach of my youth.’”

V. 33-34 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
