Victorious in Light

This morning while in the secret place, I had been reading the last few chapters of Mark’s account of Jesus’ path to the cross, His resurrection, His encounters with believers and His friends after His resurrection, and of His commission to His apostles to go into all the earth, preach the Good News and make disciples.

I reflected upon what Jesus did during those specific last days two-thousand years ago. He suffered continuous betrayal, died a cruel sinner’s death upon the cross, though He be sinless. He shattered the gates of hell and took back the keys of death and the grave, and He rose to life victoriously. He commissioned His apostles and us to go to every nation, tribe, and tongue and declare that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand; and He ascended to sit upon His heavenly throne and reign victoriously forever. He went to prepare a place for us.

As I sat overwhelmed with a fresh revelation of this reality leading up to Resurrection Day tomorrow, He began to speak to me about what He is doing now and what He is going to do. I heard Him say:

“Glory and splendor are rising unto My name. Death has been defeated and I am victorious in light!!! You will look and see My glory in ways unheard of! So much joy is coming in a mighty increase, yes, a mighty crescendo throughout eternity.

The nations will gaze upon Me and be filled with new life!

My glory is My goodness; and I restore what was broken and severed. You have yet to know what I am going to do! For what is coming is going to be greater than what has been!

For My name’s sake, I am bringing with Me a new light and a new life in this present darkness. Where the sun and moon will be darkened, I will bring a flash of light that will be a sign to you of My promise. A sign of release to My gift of restoration will you see.

I am taking what was broken and left in destitution and I am rebuilding a new creation, far better than what was. The nations will gaze upon what I masterfully create and will be amazed and in awe and wonder!

You will know the age of rejoicing has come by these signs. Come with your joy offerings and your sacrifices of love and watch what I do! I make all things better than before! I make all things new!”

Isaiah 60:1-4 (TPT)
“Rise up in splendor and be radiant, for your light has dawned, and Yahweh’s glory now streams from you! Look carefully! Darkness blankets the earth, and thick gloom covers the nations, but Yahweh arises upon you and the brightness of His glory appears over you! Nations will be attracted to your radiant light and kings to the sunrise-glory of your new day. Lift up your eyes higher! Look all around you and believe, for your sons are returning from far away and your daughters are being tenderly carried home. Watch as they all gather together, eager to come back to you!”

V. 10, 14 (TPT)
“Foreigners will rebuild your walls and their kings will serve you. Even though I punished you in My anger, I will restore you in My gracious favor, and show you My tender compassion.”
“The descendants of your oppressors will come bowing low before you, and all who hated you will bow down at your feet. They will call you The Beautiful City of Yahweh, Glorious Zion of the Holy One of Israel.”

V. 15-16 (TPT)
“Although once you were rejected and despised, undesirable for anyone to pass through you, I will make you majestic forever, a source of joy for every generation. You will guzzle the milk of nations and suckle at the breast of kings. You will know Me intimately that I am Yahweh, your Savior, for I am the Mighty Hero who rules over Jacob’s tribes, your Kinsman-Redeemer!”

V. 19-22 (TPT)
“The sun will no longer be needed to brighten the day, nor the moon to shine at night, for Yahweh will be your unfailing light; your God will be your glory! There will be no more sunsets or new moons, for Yahweh will be your everlasting light and your days of sadness will be over. All your people will be righteous and will permanently possess the land. I planted them there as a tender sapling, the work of My own hands to display My glory. I will multiply the least of you into a thousand and the weakest one into a mighty nation. I am Yahweh, and when the right time comes, I will accomplish it swiftly!”

The NOW Harvest: Part 1

Two mornings ago in my 5 a.m. groggy state, I felt a stirring in my spirit of what was on the Lord’s heart that morning. As I sleepily tried to focus and clutched my authentic Indian Masala Chai (of which we adore and keep readily on hand because it reminds us of ‘home’) for joy and warmth from this sudden and brisk change in weather, I turned to John 4 that we were reading from while discipling a friend the evening before. I had that night realized something that I had never knowingly noticed before. I will be sharing about this in a two part word of which the second half should be up soon, so be on the look out for it! Now, on to the meat!

The first half of John 4 is telling the account of Jesus’ interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well. Just as Jesus revealed to the Samaritan woman that He was the Messiah that the world had been searching for, His disciples returned to Him with lunch. Instead of being intrigued and interested in what was taking place in that very moment, they were distracted and possibly even offended to find Him not only conversing with a woman, which was culturally unacceptable in those times; but more so with a woman who was not a Jew.

After the woman ran off to town to tell everyone about Who she had just encountered, the disciples urged Jesus to eat the lunch that they had brought. Jesus’ response is, 34My food (‘nourishment’ in NLT) is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to completely finish His work. 35Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest.” The first thing I want to point out is what Jesus said in verse 34. Jesus and His disciples had been traveling for quite some time leading up to this and when He stopped at Jacob’s well, it says that He was weary from the walk. It only makes sense that after a strenuous, exhausting activity that one should drink and eat to regain strength for the journey. Instead, Jesus responded that His nourishment comes from Heaven, doing the will of the One Who sent Him and completing His work in the earth.

My question for you is, do you like to fast? I never enjoyed it and it definitely felt like dying to self; for I realized how much I enjoy chocolate and meat. Jesus told me about five months ago to begin intentionally and frequently fasting if I truly desired to see many things I had been seeking Him in prayer about as well as for global revival to come to full fruition. I will be honest and tell you, I was disobedient up until Jeremiah went to Southeast Asia two months ago. I was caught up in the ‘now’ nourishment and sustenance. I am so grateful that He is such a gracious and patient Papa and sees where we are and will also come to meet us there and call us upward.

Before Jeremiah left, He gently reminded me of His last call and with a great desire and hunger for Him and His will in Asia, I fasted for the duration of Jeremiah’s leave and forsook my ‘good’ chores to sit at His feet. Let me tell you, in my ‘dying to self’, I came alive in the manifest Spirit of God and encountered more of Jesus and heavenly activity than in the culmination of my walk with the Lord. I will not be fake and pretend that since then I do not struggle in my days of consistent fasting, nor do presume to make it perfectly through every day without fail, whether intentional or not. I do recognize there was a special grace upon those first weeks; but fasting is warfare. I will, however, say that I have found a realm far beyond any earthly substance that would sustain. I now understand what Jesus meant when He said what He did.

Recently, I have noticed the purity of my son, Azariah’s bold faith in increasing levels. It has been his practice for about a year and half of praying himself before bed after we do. Over time, his prayers have become interesting, precious, spirit-led, and awakening as we have seen him grow and his love for Jesus increase. Since Jeremiah returned from Southeast Asia in which they saw 4,612 souls reaped in Jesus’ name into the Kingdom of Heaven, we have faced varying levels of attack and warfare. It is no mystery to us for we know the enemy is angry and threatened at our obedience in seeking His face and doing His will. We do not question where these trials originate, for we stirred up and ransacked hell in warfare over every one of those souls.

Two weeks ago, I had to take Elam, our 19 month old to get 5 stitches on his nose after a freak accident and I was emotionally worn. The enemy took the next day to hit me at every turn, including enduring a freak accident and injury myself. That night while experiencing a unwarranted attack of vertigo while praying with Azariah in bed, I encountered the love of the Father through my three year old and gained much understanding in His ways.

Azariah’s nightly questions before bed are, “How was your good day today?” and “What was your favorite part?” Truthfully, I responded, “Mommy did not have a good day today, baby; nor do I have a favorite part.” I began to explain why, including Elam’s accident the night before. He responded, “I’m sorry, Mommy. I’m so sorry.” I asked why. He stated, “I should’ve prayed for you when the cheerios spilled.” (Right after my own accident, in pain, I got the boys a snack to try and distract them as I cleaned it up. As I handed Elam his cup, the container of cheerios crashed in a massively dispersed mess on the kitchen floor. Azariah ran in upset thinking he wouldn’t get a snack now…never fear, there’s another box.)

Shocked at his statement in bed, I told him it wasn’t his fault. He said again that he should’ve prayed for me because I was hurt and having a hard day. He then proceeded to hold me, rub my back, and pray the most powerful and precious prayer over me. As I wept an ugly cry, the love of God entered this bubble and invaded every place of pain, brokenness, anxiety, and fear; completely uprooting and replacing them with His love. It was then as I reflected what we are really fighting for, what we are really fasting for…a whole other dimension. This was the nourishment that I desperately needed. Each of these things are not to be done out of selfishness, but out of a whole-hearted, genuine desire to see the totality of His Kingdom invade the earth; and to see the coming generations operating in the fullness of the Spirit and power, from the youngest of age. These things can only be done by first doing it yourself, then setting an example for those coming after you to follow. THIS is true discipleship. THIS will change the world. The battle and the sacrifice is worth it.

(NLT) 35“But I say, WAKE UP and look around. The fields are ALREADY ripe for harvest.” (emphasis added)  The harvest is truly RIPE all around us, if we will only WAKE UP and look at what is right in front of us. The hearts of our children are ripe. If we do it right, if we will seek His face and ascend the hill of the Lord, our children will see where we are going and the why behind it; and they will develop the desire to follow right behind, for the prize of Jesus here on earth will be the why behind their ‘yes!”

Soon, I will share the “The NOW Harvest: Part 2” with the rest of the revelation from John 4 as well as the Word the Lord spoke to me that morning while resting in His wonderful Presence.

I leave you with these final reflections:
What are you willing to give up in your ascent to the mountain of the Lord?
All of the baggage can sure weigh you down and prevent you from receiving the full nourishment needed to complete the will of the Lord for your life and in the earth. I implore you to be seeking out ways to be intentional in sitting at His feet in ever-increasing heights, receiving your replenishment, furthering the Gospel and discipling those around you, especially the children in your life!

The Importance of The One (Southeast Asia)

I have been back in the states for a few days now, but it is still almost unreal where I have gone and what God has done with me. For me, a normal person who said “Yes, I will follow”, it is almost unbelievable what God has done. After a week, 10 teams of three and four came back with an offering to the Lord of 4,612 souls. This is not including the healing, encouragement, and freedom that was ministered to countless people, churches, and other organizations. I praise God that I was able to contribute an offering to give glory to His name!!!

As I think back to some of the most powerful encounters with what God did over the trip, I am reminded of the importance of stopping for the one. All throughout Scripture, Jesus is teaching and ministering to large crowds of people, but is frequently interrupted by the one. One person needs some special attention, healing, freedom, or salvation. When this happens, Jesus does not ignore them and continue on to minister to the crowd, but gives them as much love, compassion, and care as the large crowds. He takes the time to minister to the one.

Even though we literally saw thousands of people come to know the Lord, the most powerful times were when God brought the one. The time I felt the most powerful move of God was for one person. God orchestrated things for me to preach at an evening service in a large church. The pastor of this church had some personal problems, but had still invited me to come and speak. Before even going, I was told not to expect anyone to come forward for an invitation time because it was culture for them to commit to follow Jesus later during a personal meeting with the pastor.

As I worshipped, I felt the presence of God in a mighty way, and as I spoke the word, I was experiencing part of His heart of compassion for the people. Although it has rarely happened, God moved me to tears as I called for His lost sons and daughters to come to their Good Father. No one moved, but I knew I was here for this purpose so I continued to press in. After some time, one lone girl in pink came down and knelt at the altar. She broke the cultural expectations, in front of over 100 people, and courageously came to The Good Father. Not too long after that three more came. I was so overcome, I could not even lead them in a prayer, but left that to the translator to do. As I went down and prayed for each one, the floor was wet with the tears of the this teenage girl. She remained there weeping for the whole ministry time as we prayed for the sick. Afterwards, the over abundance of joy that was exuding out of her was evidence that she had been changed. This is why I was there, for this one girl. The others were just a bonus from God for my obedience.

You may not be called at this moment to go and evangelize on a street corner to dozens of people or preach in a church or conference to hundreds or thousands. However, you are called to the one who does not know. One neighbor, family member, friend, or co-worker is who you are called to speak to. One cashier needs to hear the Truth. One worker in a store has been prepared to receive. One person at the park is hurting and in need. That is who you are called to no matter who you are.

I encourage you today, begin to look around you for the one who is hurting, lost, in need. Pray for them, then open your mouth and speak the truth that is in you. As you are faithful to shine the light that is in you, God will be faithful to bring more to you. Never forget, at one time, you were the one that needed someone to speak the truth to you and to be shown the heart of a Good Father. May God bless you to be the one to minister His heart to the one today, this week, and for the rest of your life!!!

Matthew 18:14 So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones be lost.

Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

The Word and the Conflict

Although we may not be doing as much big and showy ministry and going all over the world as we were last year, we have not slacked off in pursuing what God has for us right here and right now.  Even during this time of waiting, we are positioning ourselves with key people and partnering with ministries that are accomplishing the work of the Lord.

One of the ministries we enjoy immensely and have been helping with the most is Encounter God’s Presence.  We have been a part of this incredible ministry since it began in 2012 and have seen God move in mighty ways.  It has recently grown to be more than just a youth summer camp and annual leadership retreat.  Numerous youth rallies, events, and weekly worship gatherings have sprung forth, and we have been delighted to participate and be a part of the leadership here, where God is moving.

As we were helping with this ministry, we were given the opportunity to speak at last year’s youth summer camp, only one week after we had returned from our 9 month-long missions journey around the world.  We were able to share about what God did in us and through us and what we experienced. In addition to this, Jeremiah shared a word of encouragement that the Lord gave him for the youth, “The Word and the Conflict.”  Here is the video of our testimony and encouragement that you can take for yourself today.  May the Lord speak to you in mighty ways and encourage you to boldly walk in deeper obedience to the Word He gives you, overcoming all conflict that the enemy would like to bring!

Also, we would like to invite you and all youth in the DFW area to be a part of the great things the Lord is doing through Encounter: area youth rallies, weekly worship nights, or youth summer camp (June 22nd-26th).  Check out the link below or message us to get more details.  We would love to have you join us!!!

Bold Abandonment: Newsletter #5

God is continuing to use us in different ways while here in Texas.  It may not be how we would have thought, but He is showing us even more how to praise Him in seasons of waiting.  As well as how to be faithful in not just doing the good works that benefit ourselves, but also stepping out into the Greater Works that Jesus talks about in John 14:12.  May you be blessed in reading about our faith journey with the Lord and encouraged to step into the Greater Works that marked Jesus and the Apostles!!! 🙂

In Christ,
