Precipitating The Latter Rain 11/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

It is time once again to examine our reasons to commit to The 40.  We must constantly refresh the reason behind the fast or we will be drawn away by the enticements of the world to what may seem better.

Why have you committed to press in to The Lord through fasting?

Whatever your reason may be for going into this fast, today, I want to give you another one. Fasting precipitates the Latter Rain.  The former generation experienced what they refer to as the Latter Rain and there have been many prophecies about the former and latter rain coming together in these days ahead using the passage Joel 2:23.  Though this is the passage used by so many about the coming releasing of The Spirit in a mighty way, few know the context in Joel during this time.  Another passage of scriptures you may know well is Joel 2:28-32.

Joel 2:28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and  on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

This may be one of the most referred to passages in the charismatic church especially since it is referenced by Peter in Acts 2:17-21 when the Holy Spirit comes upon the disciples in such a powerful way.  Again, it seems that no one knows the context of what is happening in the book of Joel preceding this.  We often overlook “minor” details that can lead us to a true revelation to how God wants to bring about what He has promised conditionally.  It is especially important to view the context because this passage starts with, me paraphrasing, these things will take place after something else happens.

If you read the book of Joel, this is a time of tremendous devastation in the entire land of Judah.  An enormous plague of locusts had come and stripped the entire country of all vegetation.  Famine and drought as well as starvation and death of man and animals was taking place.  This was the worst possible moment in the people’s lives, and they needed a solution.  The prophet Joel came with a solution:

Joel 1:13-14 Gird yourselves and lament, you priests; Wail, you who minister before the altar; Come, lie all night in sackcloth, You who minister to my God; For the grain offering and the drink offering Are withheld from the house of your God. 14 Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the elders And all the inhabitants of the land
Into the house of the Lord your God, And cry out to the Lord.

The solution for this crisis is humility, repentance, prayer, and fasting.  This plague was a result of the people’s constant refusal to turn to God and follow His ways.  Therefore, He allows the effects of their disobedience to come upon them.  Turning back to Him is the only way to change their situation, and fasting is a sign of a true repentance and humbling of the heart.

In case the people did not want to take the advice of a mere prophet of God, The Lord Himself gives the solution for their problem in the very next chapter:

Joel 2:12-13 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”  13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.

Here, God calls for repentance, fasting, and prayer.  Fasting is a true evidence of a desire to change and come into line with God and His purposes instead of partnering with our own flesh.  This is what will cause the grace and mercy of Heaven to be made evident in our lives.  This is not just a call for certain group of people like the holy priests or pastors.  Vs. 15-17 tells us that it is for:

  • People
  • The Congregation
  • Elders
  • Children
  • Babies
  • Newlyweds
  • Priests

No one is left out of this call to come to the Lord in repentance, fasting, and prayer.  No this is not a mandatory thing.  However, this is what is referring to in Vs. 28 after you come as an entire people in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer then God will pour out His Spirit.  The apostles received The Holy Spirit after waiting and in unity in The Upper Room for 10 days.  We know they were praying together, but I believe they were fasting as well.  The outbreak of The Spirit at Azusa was a result of 10 days of fasting and praying together.

Here we are, committed to The Lord and each other for The 40.  What can God do with our hearts that come to Him in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer?

Jesus, I ask that you will take this simple offering of my life, my commitment to you and use it for Your Kingdom.  I desire for The Great Outpouring of The Spirit that has so often been talked about.  I come to you in humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer right now.  Come and move in a mighty way that you may receive the glory that is due Your name!!!

Practical –

  • Read Joel 1-2
  • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal how you can partner with Him in your personal prayer time
  • Ask Him to reveal how to call your community into humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer
  • Be obedient to all that He speaks.

Be blessed with the power to partner with Holy Spirit in precipitating the Latter Rain.  May this lifestyle propel you into the next level with Him!

Jeremiah, Man on Fire!!!

From Fire to Fertility

Massive wildfire in Los Angeles on September 1, 2017

While in prayer over the raging and destructive fires rampaging indiscriminately through the northwest region of the United States, the Lord released a transforming word that has the power to change the tide of the nation.

Only I can silence and calm the raging flames of uncontrollability. The drought of My Presence will soon be no more. For too long the enemy has opposed My Truth by invading the hearts of many. He has sent death and destruction to the land in hopes of bringing unbelief and rage into the hearts of man in a fresh wave. But soon I will silence the lying deceiver and remove the blanket of liberal lies and replace it with a blanket- yes, a covering- of a truth as refreshing as a dew of the morn. It with My Spirit will drench the altars of deception and false gods to silence the lying tongue in the ears of those in influential places and put them in their place.

As a sign of this, there will be a great shifting in the heavens as a great shifting takes place in the natural. The demonic influences will be exposed for what they truly are and My Son will crush them under the feet of My righteous remnants. A supernatural wave will rise up to sweep away the darkness and bring on a wave of My Spirit in a spirit of freedom.

Where there seemed to be an absence of My Spirit, I will march in like a Mighty Warrior and take back the influential vision.

Yes, the enemy of destruction has been defeated. For the fire was meant for destruction and decimation but I reign over My creation. Even in the midst of destruction, I am moving to make Ready Ground. Fire burns up all of the impurities and thorns that have long choked out the life. When removed, its charred remnants actually serve as an aid to increase fertility in the soil. New life is able to spring forth greater than before; ushering in foreign inhabitants, giving them food and abundant lodging.

Ready Ground attracts the unusual rain of outpouring and revival.”

ISAIAH‬ ‭55:10-13‬ ‭AMP‬‬

““For as the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth, making it bear and sprout, and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so will My word be which goes out of My mouth; it will not return to Me void (useless, without result), without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. “For you will go out [from exile] with joy and be led forth [by the LORD Himself] with peace; the mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. “Instead of the thorn bush the cypress tree will grow, and instead of the nettle the myrtle tree will grow; and it will be a memorial to the LORD, for an everlasting sign [of His mercy] which will not be cut off.””

Rains of Revival

Previously my husband shared the word that the Lord had given him for Spain The Mighty Wind and the Dry Bones, however, I will recap a little bit before I share the word that God has given me. The day that we arrived in Spain Pastor JoseMaria picked us up from the airport, and he, with no relation to what we had been discussing, began to tell us about an unusually strong, strange wind that woke him up during the night a few times. I thought it odd that something so ‘strange and unusual’ would happen the night before our arrival. I immediately felt that there was something taking place in the spiritual and being made evident in the physical but decided to pray into this before sharing with anyone.

The next morning in prayer with Jeremiah, the Lord confirmed this word to me as he shared that this phenomenon caught his attention, and God had revealed the same thing to him. I took note of this and began praying throughout the week as to what this word meant for Spain. God reminded me of when Elijah prayed for rain. This event takes place at the end of the 3 1/2 year drought that Elijah prophesied over Israel as an affront to baal, who supposedly controlled the natural forces; which led to the contest on Mount Carmel where Elijah challenged the people of Israel, King Ahab and the prophets of baal to choose who to follow. Two altars were built, to God and to baal, and God made Himself known as the One True God by consuming with fire the drenched altar Elijah built. Now that Israel made the confession that the Lord is God, Elijah informed Ahab that a mighty rainstorm was coming. Elijah took his servant, climbed to the top of the mountain, and humbled himself, bowing low to the ground with his face between his knees praying. Six times he sent his servant to look out to the sea and each time, the servant returned, having seen nothing. Elijah sent him the 7th time, and this time the servant returned saying in 1 Kings 18:44, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Elijah immediately rose, told Ahab to return to Jezreel with haste and the Lord gave Elijah special strength to run ahead of Ahab’s chariot, beating him on the 17 mile trek to Jezreel.

Next, Verse 45 says “a heavy wind brought about a terrible rainstorm.” Just as wind brings about a change in the atmosphere and climate, so does Holy Spirit. The Lord told me through these verses that the “rain is coming.” Spain, as Jeremiah said, can be seen as a very dry place spiritually. And indeed, there has been many years of spiritual drought here. But there are churches of believers, missionaries and those praying for His Spirit to sweep across the nation again. This unification brings about blessing (Psalm 133.) When the people of Israel saw that their hearts belonged to something that didn’t exist, they came back to God. It was then that the tide shifted, and the time had come for the rain. Though there was no physical sign that his prayers were effective, Elijah persisted, knowing that God would come through, until he saw the fruit come forth through the ‘small fist sized cloud’. James 5:16-18 says, “…The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.” The last word that God gave me was that just as God enabled Elijah with ‘special strength’ to return before the rain came, He is enabling the people, ministries and churches here with special strength to be able to house the flood of people that will come when revival arrives.

Are there areas in your life that have been dry and lacking fruit? Are there things that you have been praying and contending for so long that the lack of results has brought discouragement and a dip in your faith? Take heart! My husband and I know very well that the dry times are difficult. We went through 10 months of waiting for change and direction and thought He wasn’t speaking to us. What we found when we heard the final word of “GO!” was that God had been speaking all along; we had just been so set on seeing giant fruit that it overshadowed the small fruit appearing. Though the cloud was so small, it was a harbinger of the ‘terrible rainstorm’ to come, meaning that the small things bring about the great things yet to come. God is faithful, and we must look ahead for the tiny fist sized cloud giving way in the distance. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal where He is working in the small things, be thankful for those things, but continue to press in for the larger things.

Blessings,

Katie, Pure Fire of Yahweh!!!
