Glutton & Drunkard 39/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Here we are, the last two days of The 40.  If you have not already, you are probably dreaming about what you will eat first.  Please remember to break the fast simple and slow. Your stomach will have shrunk and food will be more difficult to digest.  Chew food throughly and eat small portions.  It should take at least three days to get back to eating what you were eating before the fast.  Be conscious of what your body is doing, and any discomfort means you should slow the breaking of the fast.  All that being said, the day of celebration is almost here.  We have sought the Lord together in the fasting, let’s continue to seek Him together in the celebration!

Too often, we become people of extremes.  We are either completely for something or totally against it.  In issues of morality this may be good, but this can get us into trouble in other areas.  Jesus was a man of grace and truth. If you are too full of grace, anything goes and truth gets thrown out the window. If you are totally focused on truth, there is not room for the grace that abounds to do its work in you.

Another area we see this evident is the Spirit and The Word.  Some people focus so much on the Spirit, they end up doing whatever they want and the Word becomes useless to them.  However, some people are so focused on The Word that they get bound up in religious rules and doctrine and do not allow the a Bible to be The Living Word.

In the same way, we could become so focused on the power, blessing, and benefits of fasting that we begin to believe that this is the only way God will work.  Often, people think that I am the fasting man and do not eat or do not like food, because they do not take the time to get to know me.  One reason I have focused so much on fasting is because it seems that their is almost no teaching on it in the American church.  There is so much focus on fellowship, feasting, and celebration and almost nothing about the benefits and blessing of prayer and fasting.  Both have their time and place, but one does not cancel out the other.

This was a problem during the life of Jesus.  Which is better to eat and drink or to fast and pray?  Let’s see what Jesus has to say about it:

Luke 7:33-35 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man has come  eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a  winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by all her children.”

John the Baptizer was Jesus’ cousin who came at a time that needed a message of humility and repentance.  He was in line for the priesthood and therefore never would lack a meal in his life if he continued in the natural order of things.  However, God called him to a life set apart from the culture in order that he could not only be a man of humility and repentance, but so that he could share this message from a transformed life and by being a living example.  Repentance and humility was needed in the people to prepare the way for the new revelation of The Truth, Jesus.

Because of his lifestyle, those who did not agree with John said he had a demon and was not from God.  They would much prefer to eat, drink, and be merry.  No need to repent and humble yourself when you could enjoy the pleasures of this world.  Often, we ignore the present word of The Lord because we do not want come into line with it.

However, these same people had nothing good to say when Jesus came along either.  Nearly every time we see Jesus, He is with people in their houses or sitting around a table at a meal.  He is constantly celebrating and feasting as He ministers to the people.  He also multiplies food to make sure that everyone gets plenty even to abundance.  The people who wanted John to be more free and to celebrate more begin to accuse Jesus of being too free and celebratory.  They said he was sinning by giving into the lust of the flesh.  Too much food, too much wine, and too much grace must be in his life.  He cannot be from God.

These people have no wisdom, only a desire to follow the lust of their flesh to do what they want, and the desire to make themselves look better than everyone else.  It is easier to criticize people for how they act than to examine our own lives and submit them to God that He may transform us into His image.  Let’s humbly offer our bodies to The Lord Jesus as living sacrifices to do what He wants in us and through us.  Whether we are fasting or feasting, we will sin if we have wrong hearts, wrong words, or wrong actions.

My encouragement for us today is to focus on Jesus and be obedient to what He is calling us to do.  We do not need to look around us and degrade or exalt others because of how they look or what they may be doing.  We are called to examine ourselves and submit ourselves to God.  As we walk in submission and obedience we will be transformed into the children of The Kingdom that we were created to be.

Jesus, help me to always look to You and You alone for approval.  I do not desire people of this world to consent to my actions, but I want to align with You, Your Word, and Your Way!  I want to praise, honor, and glorify You in my actions, words, and even thoughts that you may be glorified in me and that Your heart would be exhibited from me.

Practical –

  • Submit to Holy Spirit
  • Ask to hear His Words
  • Walk and live in obedience to all He reveals

Be blessed today to walk constantly coming more into line with Jesus and His way and to exhibit the same grace and truth that He walked in.  May you truly become the child of God you were created to be as you are propelled into new levels with Him!

Advance 22/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

Well done!  We are now past the halfway mark, past Daniel’s precedent of 21 days, and beginning week 4 of The 40.  Do not waver! Do not falter! Press into Jesus, and be propelled into the next level with Him!!

This morning, I felt The Lord highlight one word, “Advance“.  This word means a lot to me for different reasons, but one of the reasons is this is an official military term, in my mind at least.  As we move forward into uncharted territory, God is leading and guiding.  He has gone before us to direct us in the right way we should go (John 10:4). Yesterday, the focus was on Touching The Kingdom, and the seeking of direction and revelation through humility, hunger, repentance, prayer, and fasting.  This should be our way of life until we receive our orders.   Then, we must “Advance” into all God has for us.

Even understanding a proper definition of advance gives us a clue into what God is speaking to us today.

Advance:

  • Move forward in a purposeful way (Help us all to move forward with Your plans and in Your purposes Lord!)
  • Accelerate growth or progress of (We desire to progress and grow in You, Lord)
  • Raise to a higher rank (Thank you for raising us up to higher ranks in The Kingdom as we faithfully carry out our assignments at the level we are now.)
  • To lift up (Lift us up into heavenly realms with You)
  • Bring forward in time (Bring us all forward in time that we may be mature believers on mission with You!)
  • My personal definition would be the effective assisting in hastening a process or bringing about a desired end.  May we all be advanced in our own lives, and be used to advance The Kingdom of God today!

In the Word, we can see this happening throughout the entire Bible, but we will focus on what is taking place in Acts 13.  The setting of this passage is the rapid growth of the church.  If you remember, they were first called Christians at Antioch, literally meaning “little Christ”.  The gospel is being proclaimed, and persecution has taken the life of James the apostle.  This was the first of the apostles to be martyred.  Peter was set to be killed as well, but through constant prayer, God miraculously delivers Him.  This is where we pick up in our reading.

The church is at a pivotal point in history. They must come to a decision if the persecution and death is too much and they should calm down in what they are doing, or if they should continue to advance The Kingdom in spite of all this.

Acts 13:1-2 Now in the church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

The response of the early church to the persecution and death of James and near martyrdom of Peter is to gather together and minister to The Lord.

How was this done? In Acts 2:42, 47 and 6:4 we find some clues: continue steadfastly in apostles doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, prayer, praising God, and ministry of The Word.  In this passage we see, they also fasted.  Fellowship, worship, prayer, and fasting are literally ministry to The Lord. As they ministered to The Lord, Holy Spirit revealed what they were to do next.

It is interesting, they did not have a vision-casting meeting. They did not form a committee to talk about business. They did not try to figure out the most logical business model to follow. They gathered the leaders to worship, prayer, and fasting.  It is a sad fact that in many churches today, call a church business meeting and everyone shows up, but call a church prayer meeting more crickets show up than people.  However, if you call a prayer meeting without food and call a people to fast, this is like what happened in the early church. Only hungry people allowed.  This is where Holy Spirit brought revelation of what was to happen next.

When Holy Spirit released this revelation, they did not end the meeting and say lets get to work. Why? Because this was not the point of the meeting.  They were there to worship God with everything they had to give.  As a result, when they received revelation this is what they did:

Vs. 3 Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.

They continued in worship, prayer, and thanksgiving. What Holy Spirit revealed in a time of worship, prayer, and fasting was commissioned and sent out by worship, prayer, and fasting.  The focus was ministering to God and the commissioning and sending out of Barnabas and Saul for the advancement of The Kingdom was part of this ministering to God.  No man or even church was glorified in the sending out of these men.

Verse 4 begins with “So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit…”  There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that this was a work of Holy Spirit for the advance of The Kingdom.  This is before Saul had prove himself to the church.  He is still in the care of Barnabas and there is probably still those who do not fully trust him.  That did not matter when Holy Spirit had set him apart to send him out. In the very next chapter Saul is violently persecuted and stoned. The strength knowing Holy Spirit had called him and sent him out enabled him to return to the very cities that this took place.

My encouragement for us today is that as we gather together daily to worship, pray, and fast, whether together in body or spirit, Holy Spirit will bring wisdom, understanding, and revelation that only comes from Him.  As He does, may we all be strengthened with might to advance The Kingdom and walk in what He has called us to.  Nothing can hold you back from advancing to the next level with Him if you are living and walking as His partner.

    Practical –

    • Ask for revelation of how you can minister to God today
    • As you minister to Him, seek wisdom, revelation, and understanding that only comes from Him
    • As He reveals, ask for the strength and ability to obey
    • Continue in Worship and ministry to Him
    • Obey all He directs you to do

Be blessed with the ability to truly advance The Kingdom in partnership with Holy Spirit. May you receive wisdom, understanding, revelation and might as you minister to Holy Spirit.  May this propel you to the next level with Him!

    Treasuring The Word 13/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

As we near the end of the second week, I want to encourage you to continue to return to The Lord for strength and life.  Some may have incredible will power, but the point of fasting and prayer is to humble yourself and say, “God, I need You!”  I would not have been able to make it this far without supernatural strength.

Here is another encouragement from Jesus’ words:

Matthew 5:3 Blessed [spiritually prosperous, happy, to be admired] are the poor in spirit [those devoid of spiritual arrogance, those who regard themselves as insignificant], for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [both now and forever].

Those of us who realize our need for God are blessed and will be spiritually prosperous because we know it is His work in us and not the work of our hands.  Continue to trust in the grace and mercy of a loving God, and look to Him for all that you need.

As we continue to press in to The Lord and seek Him, we come to a realization.  Most of the time, food becomes built up in our lives as an idol, in the very least as a great treasure.  It is what we think about.  It is what we talk about.  It is what we build our gatherings around.  “Which restaurant do you want to go to?”, “What is for dinner?“,  and “What are we going to do for food?” are common questions, especially in the American society.

Our culture is built around the value of food, and often our waistlines reflect it.  You probably find this out more when you are fasting than any other time.  It is almost necessary to become a recluse because family time, hospitality, and all social gatherings are food-centered.  When this comfort is taken away, it can be hard to figure out what to do, for the one fasting and for those around them.  If you are not eating, for whatever reason, often your own family does not even know how to treat you.

In Matthew 4, Jesus elects to go The 40 to strengthen Himself spiritually to stand up against the temptation of the enemy.  What does the enemy tempt Jesus with first?  Food!  Here is Jesus’ answer quoting from the scriptures:

Matthew 4:4, Deuteronomy 8:3 “It is written,‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Food is necessary and important for the body to live, but Jesus puts His focus on what really matters, treasuring the Word of God.  Even though your body may be sustained physically, you can still become sick and even die of a broken heart or spirit.  However, The Word of God brings life to you that you cannot get any other way.  Your value has to be on what really matters.

As we are fasting, I pray that even though the comfort of food has been taken away, you replace it with the life giving Word of God.  When we read The Bible and seek Him in prayer for a personal word, this is what will sustain us through every situation in our lives.  If you have not already, I encourage you to set aside some extra time to read The Bible and pray, especially while you fast.  This will help you not only grow spiritually, but sustain you during The 40.

Someone else who knew the importance of the word is someone we know for going through some of the most difficult trials anyone has ever had to face, Job.  In the middle of his difficult situation where everything is taken away and even his wife and friends are turning against him, this is what He says:

Job 23:12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food.

Everything that God has to say is vitally important.  Job says it should be treasured more than the food that is necessary to survive.  In his situation, he did not need food.  Food could not help him out of his grief and loss.  It could do nothing for Him.  However, he was hoping, clinging, and longing for The word from the mouth of God.  Life comes from Him!  Hope comes from Him!  Strength comes from Him!  As we seek The Lord, we must have ears to hear His word.  When we hear His word, we must be obedient to receive the true blessings He wants to pour out upon us.

Jesus, help me to truly treasure the words of your mouth more than anything in my life.  Open my ears to hear You.  Open my heart to obey You.  I want to base my life upon Your life-giving, life-sustaining word spoken to Me.

    Practical –

    • Commit 15 – 30 mins extra time to spend seeking The Lord each day.
    • Read The Bible, 1-5 chapters a day
    • Ask Holy Spirit to open your ears and help you to truly value The Word

Be blessed with eyes to see the face of God, ears to hear new revelations of His glory, and a heart to be truly transformed by His presence!  May this propel you to the next level in Him!

    Empowering The Angelic 12/40

You are invited to join us for The Propel Fast! Please review Propelled To The Next Level and other words for the reasons behind the fast as well as daily encouragement!

As we proceed into day 12, I want to continue to encourage you to make special time, maybe even some extra time, to pray and seek the face of The Lord.  Often, we can get into routines in life, even with fasting, that cause us to pass over the true blessings that come.  I remind you, fasting is never mentioned in the Bible without prayer, humility, and repentance unless it is demonic fasting.  Try fasting a little sleep in the morning and getting up a little earlier to spend special time seeking The Lord.

We do not realize the true power we have here on earth.  Originally, dominion of the earth was given to Adam.  Adam forfeited this power to the enemy when he sinned in the garden, but Jesus gained the power and authority back after rising from the dead.  Through Him, we now have all power and authority in heaven and on earth.  Because of this, we have the ability to empower angelic forces.  Let’s take a look at this passage:

Daniel 9:3-4 Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments,

Here, Daniel has come before The Lord in repentance, humility, fasting, and prayer.  He is crying out for revelation for what is about to happen to him and his people.  He comes in the right way with a humble heart and begins to seek God.  Vs. 5-19 record his humble prayer of repentance for his people even though he is probably the most faithful and righteous of his people at the time.  He owns the sin of his people, confesses it, and repents.  Immediately following this, an interesting thing happens.

Daniel 9:20-21 Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God, 21 yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.

Gabriel, the messenger, comes to deliver the answer to the what Daniel is seeking.  What I would like to point out is the passage being caused to fly swiftly, some translations may say extremely exhausted.  Whatever is taking place in the Heavens, we find out later there is war taking place in the spiritual, Gabriel is worn out.  However, he is caused to receive strength to bring that which Daniel is seeking.  Daniel is not praying to empower the angelic, but his prayers of humility and repentance, aligned with the heart of God, give the angelic messenger strength to bring forth that which he was praying for.

Do your prayers empower the angelic? Are you seeking God with humility and repentance?

You the child of God have special access to The Father.  You have the right to come boldly before The Throne of Grace. You have been given every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.  However, you cannot obtain these by works or spiritual pride.  You must come humbly in repentance, fasting and prayer to receive all that The Father has for you.  I will leave you with this scripture to reflect upon:

James 5:16 The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

Humility, repentance, fasting, and prayer should be part of the lifestyle of the people of God.  As we walk out this lifestyle, our prayer will be heartfelt and persistent and we will truly be the righteous believers we were called to be.  Our prayers have great power and are empowering the angelic for the work they were designed to do.

Jesus, I desire to come to You continually with a heart of humility and repentance.  Because of Your blood, I enter boldly into Your presence and receive the power and authority that has been given to me.  Help me to live a lifestyle that will allow You to release the angelic to work in my life.

    Practical –

    • Commit some extra time to seek the Lord during The 40
    • Ask Holy Spirit to reveal specific areas, for you to bring before Him in confession and repentance.
    • Ask Him for wisdom, understanding, revelation, and might.

Be blessed to continue to walk in a lifestyle of humility and the heart of God.  May you forever be empowering the angelic as you come boldly and rightly into His presence.

The Thunderous Decree of His Little Ones

Yesterday I took the boys to the bookstore. I had to remind my two year old, Elam multiple times to use his inside voice as he frequently forgets the meaning of that phrase.

His favorite Bible story is Jonah. He can tell you all about it and you’ll get saved all over again! I had found a Bible storybook about the animals of the Bible and gave it to him. He was sitting in the cart reading it as I helped Azariah find a book. Elam found Jonah and began telling the story of Jonah who did not listen and obey God. I then heard him flipping through the pages and suddenly, at the top of his lungs he yelled, “IT’S JESUS!!!”

Startled at the volume of the decree that just burst forth from the mouth of my babe, I, laughing, shhh’d him to bring his volume down; but he yelled again, “IT’S JESUS! I FOUND HIM!!!”

I could hear shuffling in the aisles around us, but there was no one in sight. I realized then what kind of witness my two year old held. I also for the first time saw Elam walking out the verse the Lord gave for his life:

    Isaiah 40:9-10 (TPT)
Go up on a high mountain, you joyful messengers of Zion, and lift up your voices with power. You who proclaim joyous news to Jerusalem, shout it out and don’t be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!”
“Look! Here comes Yahweh as a victorious warrior; He triumphs with His awesome power. Watch as He brings with Him His reward and the spoils of victory to give to His people.”

He is an unashamed, joyful voice shouting from the wilderness, “Behold! The Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world!”

Psalm 8:2 (TPT) says, “You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.”

Lesson #1 for us all who are called as messengers of Truth (and that’s every believer!): THIS is who we’re called to be! My two year old in many ways is bearing more fruit for the Kingdom than much of the Church is! Many in the Body are too bound up in fear to declare the joyous News of Jesus upon the mountaintops and would allow the enemy to silence their witness (I am guilty of this myself at times.)

If God builds strongholds upon the praises of His Little Ones that destroys the voice of the accuser, HOW MUCH MORE should we obediently come as Jesus stated, like children before Him?!

It is these ones who will inherit the Kingdom of God!!!

Lesson #2: Never cease to declare the Word of the Lord over your children! You are shaping their destiny through your decrees and actions; and it WILL bear fruit in ALL seasons, whether you see it or not!

Jesus! Make us like children! Help us to decree destiny and to declare Your coming!!! May we shout with a loud voice, “IT’S JESUS! I FOUND HIM!!!”

    When Jesus Comes to Town

As I stated in my post on Saturday titled, The Lost Relics of the Simple Gospel and Our Testimony, I will be sharing more today more about my recent trip to Spain. I have been sharing amazing testimonies of what God did while we were there as well as lessons along the way that apply to our everyday life and walk with the Lord.

69F8C63B-E80B-4023-9F2C-34EDA2433C60Our last Friday there, my partner, John and I were scheduled to do something we had not originally planned nor expected to do on the trip; aiding to the major summation of the entire trip…expect the unexpected! We had been told from Pastor Pablo and Elsa, the pastors we paired off with for the two weeks, that there was a couple in the church who were going through marital issues and the husband wanted a divorce. When informing us of this as we headed to another visit earlier in the week, they had asked us if we would meet with them and minister to them to try and bring some kind of reconciliation and restoration. We agreed and prayed for the Lord to do the work and that we would simply be vessels for His power and truth to flow through.

The night prior was when we had ministered and shared the Gospel at a home meeting and three people gave their hearts and lives to Jesus, as shared in the post linked above. Afterward, we went out to a late dinner at the mall nearby and our pastors informed us that the following evening would be when we would meet with the couple. Using Google Translate, they began to fill us in on the issues that had taken place in the marriage and it left us shocked and praying for divine wisdom in how to proceed. There were supposed deep strongholds and strong demonic influence and accusations, with a lot of blanks to fill in.

As Friday ensued, we anticipated that great deliverance and inner healing would need to take place; and in prayer and discussion, we both felt led to call upon our team member, Kirk, to join us as he is well trained in sozo ministry. We had the prayers of our entire team with us. Our friend, Israel, picked us up and would be our translator for the meeting. In sharing, he revealed what he had been told in preparation for the meeting; and our shock grew greater, as did our prayers for direction. We also discovered the discrepancies through translations were not entirely lining up; therefore, we were a bit unsure of what we were walking into.

We met with the couple at the church and then separated them to talk to the husband in private; with the intention of getting to the heart of the matter where he was concerned. He was open and as far as we were concerned, he did not hide any details. In fact, Pastor told us that when he heard that our team was coming to Spain, he began to feel a lack of peace and eventually asked to have a meeting with us saying he was overcome with anxiety and loss of sleep. When Jesus comes to town, all of hell shutters and knows of its impending doom! Things simply cannot remain as they were!

    IMG_4939

Ancient dungeon set upon the waters. Though dark and hopelessly drowning on the inside, surrounded by barriers to freedom, the pathway to life lies just outside the prison walls.

We began to learn in taking him through a process of his connection with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that a great many deep wounds and hurts burdened this man as well as a horrific history of abuse from the most trusted members of his family; and he bore the scars to prove it. It was evident that sitting before us was a broken man with a broken past; in deep need of a Savior to completely heal him, deliver him, set him free, and restore him. In the process, I believe that shock of all this man endured as a young child left us reeling and praying for a blanket of peace to continue in ministering to him and drawing him into the heart of the Father, the arms of Jesus, and the comfort of Holy Spirit.

As my tear-filled eyes met Israel’s astonished, tear-stained gaze as he translated, I found myself overcome and overwhelmed with the compassion of Jesus. This man struggled to see the face of the Father, as he drowned in darkness. Filled with hatred and anger at all he had endured, he was unable to allow Holy Spirit into the room. Eventually as we guided him through a series of confessions and forgiveness, he began to feel Holy Spirit with us. He began to hear truth from Heaven about who God made him to be and a breaking off of lies occurred.

We then came to Jesus. He could not see Jesus and felt abandoned by Him in his times of greatest need through years of horror. It was then that Jesus gave me a vision of a specific time when he had endured deep abuse as a very young child and He revealed every detail of the scene before my eyes. It was in that very moment that I saw Jesus come in the room, sit down beside him, and take hold of him, enveloping him in His arms, comforting him. As I shared this through tears, the man broke down weeping and spoke of this very moment in time, of what he had endured and what he was thinking. His eyes were opened to the reality that Jesus had in fact been there the whole time and had never abandoned him or forsaken him, even in his darkest of days. Jesus used this to break off deception and to usher in His truth and reality as our Faithful Friend to the very end. Such is true for each one of us.

He shared how this history paved the way to a life of crime and how he had taken dozens of lives as a hitman for a gang he was a part of. Then Jesus entered the scene in his adult years and he had his first encounter with the power of God at a church gathering. The pastor called him forward out of the crowd and as he reluctantly came up on stage, the pastor prophesied his salvation that would come forth. He drew his gun on the pastor intending to kill him; and the pastor’s response should be that of every Follower of The Way, a martyr’s cry: With hands raised, “Go ahead and kill me! If I die, I am going to die worshipping my Savior!”

With that, he shot the pastor…but no bullet came forth from his gun, the pastor was unharmed! He fired multiple rounds in the air, all successful. Then he fired at the pastor again, with the same failed response! He hit his knees, and surrendered his life to Christ! It took some years and Jesus helped set him free from the gang bent on taking his life and that of his family.

There was always this reality to go back to, a memorial erected in his memory. He lost his way along the path, but sitting with us during this time Jesus confronted the demons of his past, cast them out, broke off the chains, and unlocked the prison doors. In the end, he could see Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, and found a place in Heaven with all three that he never wanted to depart from. We then led him in a prayer of salvation and rededication to the Lord!

Sitting before us was a completely different man than we had met a few hours prior. So much so, that we believe a restorative power was released that night that will ultimately lead to the restoration of his marriage! He also became our driver for Sunday ministry travels!

Who would’ve thought that this man we ministered to would have such an encounter that he, an ex-assassin, would usher us around in ministry?! Now, THAT is what I call adventuring with Jesus!!!

I have a purpose in sharing this testimony. The main point being, it does not matter what our past looks like…Jesus was in it, is all over it, and working through it all to create in us an eternal weight of glory. Everyone has a Saul to Paul conversion in store where no matter how dark and ugly our past is, He will always bring us into a beautiful bliss of abundant life that compels us to go and do the unthinkable to make the name of Jesus famous in the earth and to do as He did.

We are never alone in this journey; never once before we knew Him, nor for a single moment after. It is time to step into His timeline, not the timeline of the past, and to advance; to storm the gates of hell and set free all who are bound as captives in darkness! No matter what appearances say, do it anyway!!! You have the dunamis (dynamite) power of Heaven backing you and going before you…you cannot lose unless you quit!

DO NOT QUIT! DO NOT RELENT IN THE ASCENT!

    2 Corinthians 4:7-18 (TPT)
“We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within, so that the extraordinary overflow of power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out. We continually share in the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the resurrection life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. We consider living to mean that we are constantly being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake so that the life of Jesus will be revealed through our humanity. So, then, death is at work in us but it releases life in you. We have the same Spirit of faith that is described in the Scriptures when it says,
‘First I believed, then I spoke in faith.’ So we also first believe then speak in faith. We do this because we are convinced that He who raised Jesus will raise us up with Him, and together we will all be brought into His Presence. Yes, all things work for your enrichment so that more of God’s marvelous grace will spread to more and more people, resulting in an even greater increase of praise to God, bringing Him even more glory!
So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our outer person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.”

    To Ascend is to Offend

This morning, my husband and I were discussing a post a well-known prophet had made recently about the opposition he has been facing with his prophecies being blocked on social media as well as pages being made by ill-intentioned people defaming him, calling him a false prophet, and tearing down his family and ministry. I know by observing the fruit of this prophet’s life as well as receiving similar words from the Lord that he is the real deal. I shared about my thoughts when I saw that post, the real reason why people resort to these destructive, misleading, underhanded tactics.

When a true fiery, bold, faith-filled, undignified man or woman of God steps into all that the Lord has destined for them, all the demons in hell tremble; for their impending doom is at hand. We see this again and again throughout the Bible just before demons are expelled and people are set free. I have never forgotten a word shared by YWAMer, Amy Sollars, “The dogs of doom stand at the door of destiny.”

The enemy would like nothing more than to keep this bold lover from stepping into their destiny; but when the enemy fails to do so, he resorts to defamation in order to cause mistrust. This leads to mistrust of the word of the Lord, which has the potential to not only harm the target but also anyone following their ministry.

The enemy will always try to cause an explosion filled with shrapnel to cause a high casualty rate. We have seen this recently through the attack against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The demonic resistance to the will of God has exploded to such a high proportions that thousands from all over the world practicing in pagan witchcraft have come together planning a public hex tomorrow against not only Kavanaugh, but many others. There is truly a war at hand folks, and we mustn’t treat any of it lightly. Souls are at stake.

Unfortunately those new to the faith, unlearned in the Word and voice of the Lord, and even unbelievers become the victims, of which many fall away and never return to the church. Contrary to popular belief, these attacks are not focused on the man or woman of God walking in obedience. The ultimate goal of the enemy has always been to cause God’s creation to doubt His character. If he is given authority to do so, he can lead God’s people astray. This very thing took place in the Garden. He never had a right to govern the earth, so he deceptively caused those endued with said authority, Adam and Eve, to doubt God’s character. When they fell, they exchanged their crown and dominion over to satan and received punishment and separation from God.

This was never God’s original design. That is why He sent Jesus.

When Jesus died on the cross weighted with the horrific, disgusting, unholy, and eternally damning sins of all of His creation, He burst through the gates of hell and the grave, ripped the keys out of the hands of the condemned one, and rose to life again, victorious; shattering the wall of separation between us and The One True God, The Mighty One of Israel.

While mulling this over with Jeremiah, I told him that I thought it would be a good thing in some ways to be like this prophet and so many others receiving such opposition. My reason for this being: if you are being opposed so greatly, you must be doing something right, or the enemy would never feel threatened or have a reason to stop you from ascending.

In stating this, my heart’s cry and a prophetic utterance came forth from me saying, “I want to Ascend! The higher you Ascend, the more you’re gonna offend!”

This is true in every fashion. Jesus had offended, angry, murderous mobs, and defaming liars following Him everywhere grasping for an opportunity to silence Him. Ultimately, these liars are the ones who cast Him forth in an unjust execution, crying, “Crucify Him!”

In the physical when ascending a high place, there is an unseen line at a specific elevation called a “snake line” in which no snake is able to surpass or survive in. In the pioneering days, settlers would seek high ground; though it be less fertile soil for crops than the lush valleys, they saw the necessity for the safety and security of the high place. Though the terrain require greater strength to trek and cultivate, it was worth the sacrifice. Above the snake line is pure air and water. Purity, untainted by the sins of the low places. People residing above the snake line were healthier in every way.

Ascending is not for the faint of heart, the weighted down baggage carriers, the complacent, those stained with sin, the unforgiving, the unbelievers. These will not survive the journey in ascension.

This is evident with the Lord when you look through Exodus 19 and 24. Moses was the only one allowed to ascend the mountain of the Lord, and God instructed him to place a boundary line that no one unholy was allowed to cross at the base of the mountain. Moses alone made the trek back and forth to convene with God on the mountaintop, and then descend to deliver His message to the Israelites. Eventually, God told him to bring Aaron up, for Aaron had consecrated himself and proven himself worthy.
Chapter 24 begins with God instructing Moses to bring Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and Israel’s seventy elders up. Through this time, the Israelites have seen the Glory of God descend upon the peak where their leader ascended.

Fear of the Lord struck those willing and hungry enough for His manifest Presence and they put off their garbage, cleansed and consecrated themselves to be prepared to ascend. In the ascent, they saw God and dined with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!

9“Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel climbed up the mountain.  10 There they saw the God of Israel…
11 And though these nobles of Israel gazed upon God, He did not destroy them. In fact, they ate a covenant meal, eating and drinking in His presence! 12 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.” 13 So Moses and his assistant Joshua set out, and Moses climbed up the mountain of God.
15 Then Moses climbed up the mountain, and the cloud covered it. 16 And the glory of the Lord settled down on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days. On the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from inside the cloud. 17 To the Israelites at the foot of the mountain, the glory of the Lord appeared at the summit like a consuming fire. 18 Then Moses disappeared into the cloud as he climbed higher up the mountain. He remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights.”

It’s time to GO UP! It’s time to GO UP into the Glory Zone!

It’s time to strip off all of the weights, strongholds, secret sins, unforgiveness, offenses, and depravity in our hearts to GO UP, to ASCEND! You cannot take these snares with you and if you choose to keep them and remain in them, you very well may find yourself in the valley of constriction as the python spirit chokes the life out of you.

The fire may strike fear in you at the base of the mountain, but which fire would you choose to pass through? The Refiner’s Fire, the Fire of Holiness and into the manifest Presence and Glory of God on the mountaintop; or the fire of eternal separation from the One Who sought you and called you higher? Will you ascend higher and higher as Moses did and abide there in His glorious Presence; or will you remain outside the wall, outside your tent because what you see now seems so much better?

I assure you beloved, to ascend is to see His face and not perish. However, only dead men may see His face. We must first die to sin and our flesh before we ascend into the Holy of Holies. It is then and only then, that we may find ourselves in the wrap around Presence of The Holy God!

    Zechariah 2:5 (AMP)
“For I,” declares the Lord, “will be a wall of fire around her [protecting her from enemies], and I will be the glory in her midst.”
