The NOW Harvest: Part 1

Two mornings ago in my 5 a.m. groggy state, I felt a stirring in my spirit of what was on the Lord’s heart that morning. As I sleepily tried to focus and clutched my authentic Indian Masala Chai (of which we adore and keep readily on hand because it reminds us of ‘home’) for joy and warmth from this sudden and brisk change in weather, I turned to John 4 that we were reading from while discipling a friend the evening before. I had that night realized something that I had never knowingly noticed before. I will be sharing about this in a two part word of which the second half should be up soon, so be on the look out for it! Now, on to the meat!

The first half of John 4 is telling the account of Jesus’ interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well. Just as Jesus revealed to the Samaritan woman that He was the Messiah that the world had been searching for, His disciples returned to Him with lunch. Instead of being intrigued and interested in what was taking place in that very moment, they were distracted and possibly even offended to find Him not only conversing with a woman, which was culturally unacceptable in those times; but more so with a woman who was not a Jew.

After the woman ran off to town to tell everyone about Who she had just encountered, the disciples urged Jesus to eat the lunch that they had brought. Jesus’ response is, 34My food (‘nourishment’ in NLT) is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to completely finish His work. 35Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest.” The first thing I want to point out is what Jesus said in verse 34. Jesus and His disciples had been traveling for quite some time leading up to this and when He stopped at Jacob’s well, it says that He was weary from the walk. It only makes sense that after a strenuous, exhausting activity that one should drink and eat to regain strength for the journey. Instead, Jesus responded that His nourishment comes from Heaven, doing the will of the One Who sent Him and completing His work in the earth.

My question for you is, do you like to fast? I never enjoyed it and it definitely felt like dying to self; for I realized how much I enjoy chocolate and meat. Jesus told me about five months ago to begin intentionally and frequently fasting if I truly desired to see many things I had been seeking Him in prayer about as well as for global revival to come to full fruition. I will be honest and tell you, I was disobedient up until Jeremiah went to Southeast Asia two months ago. I was caught up in the ‘now’ nourishment and sustenance. I am so grateful that He is such a gracious and patient Papa and sees where we are and will also come to meet us there and call us upward.

Before Jeremiah left, He gently reminded me of His last call and with a great desire and hunger for Him and His will in Asia, I fasted for the duration of Jeremiah’s leave and forsook my ‘good’ chores to sit at His feet. Let me tell you, in my ‘dying to self’, I came alive in the manifest Spirit of God and encountered more of Jesus and heavenly activity than in the culmination of my walk with the Lord. I will not be fake and pretend that since then I do not struggle in my days of consistent fasting, nor do presume to make it perfectly through every day without fail, whether intentional or not. I do recognize there was a special grace upon those first weeks; but fasting is warfare. I will, however, say that I have found a realm far beyond any earthly substance that would sustain. I now understand what Jesus meant when He said what He did.

Recently, I have noticed the purity of my son, Azariah’s bold faith in increasing levels. It has been his practice for about a year and half of praying himself before bed after we do. Over time, his prayers have become interesting, precious, spirit-led, and awakening as we have seen him grow and his love for Jesus increase. Since Jeremiah returned from Southeast Asia in which they saw 4,612 souls reaped in Jesus’ name into the Kingdom of Heaven, we have faced varying levels of attack and warfare. It is no mystery to us for we know the enemy is angry and threatened at our obedience in seeking His face and doing His will. We do not question where these trials originate, for we stirred up and ransacked hell in warfare over every one of those souls.

Two weeks ago, I had to take Elam, our 19 month old to get 5 stitches on his nose after a freak accident and I was emotionally worn. The enemy took the next day to hit me at every turn, including enduring a freak accident and injury myself. That night while experiencing a unwarranted attack of vertigo while praying with Azariah in bed, I encountered the love of the Father through my three year old and gained much understanding in His ways.

Azariah’s nightly questions before bed are, “How was your good day today?” and “What was your favorite part?” Truthfully, I responded, “Mommy did not have a good day today, baby; nor do I have a favorite part.” I began to explain why, including Elam’s accident the night before. He responded, “I’m sorry, Mommy. I’m so sorry.” I asked why. He stated, “I should’ve prayed for you when the cheerios spilled.” (Right after my own accident, in pain, I got the boys a snack to try and distract them as I cleaned it up. As I handed Elam his cup, the container of cheerios crashed in a massively dispersed mess on the kitchen floor. Azariah ran in upset thinking he wouldn’t get a snack now…never fear, there’s another box.)

Shocked at his statement in bed, I told him it wasn’t his fault. He said again that he should’ve prayed for me because I was hurt and having a hard day. He then proceeded to hold me, rub my back, and pray the most powerful and precious prayer over me. As I wept an ugly cry, the love of God entered this bubble and invaded every place of pain, brokenness, anxiety, and fear; completely uprooting and replacing them with His love. It was then as I reflected what we are really fighting for, what we are really fasting for…a whole other dimension. This was the nourishment that I desperately needed. Each of these things are not to be done out of selfishness, but out of a whole-hearted, genuine desire to see the totality of His Kingdom invade the earth; and to see the coming generations operating in the fullness of the Spirit and power, from the youngest of age. These things can only be done by first doing it yourself, then setting an example for those coming after you to follow. THIS is true discipleship. THIS will change the world. The battle and the sacrifice is worth it.

(NLT) 35“But I say, WAKE UP and look around. The fields are ALREADY ripe for harvest.” (emphasis added)  The harvest is truly RIPE all around us, if we will only WAKE UP and look at what is right in front of us. The hearts of our children are ripe. If we do it right, if we will seek His face and ascend the hill of the Lord, our children will see where we are going and the why behind it; and they will develop the desire to follow right behind, for the prize of Jesus here on earth will be the why behind their ‘yes!”

Soon, I will share the “The NOW Harvest: Part 2” with the rest of the revelation from John 4 as well as the Word the Lord spoke to me that morning while resting in His wonderful Presence.

I leave you with these final reflections:
What are you willing to give up in your ascent to the mountain of the Lord?
All of the baggage can sure weigh you down and prevent you from receiving the full nourishment needed to complete the will of the Lord for your life and in the earth. I implore you to be seeking out ways to be intentional in sitting at His feet in ever-increasing heights, receiving your replenishment, furthering the Gospel and discipling those around you, especially the children in your life!

Simple Discipleship

I would like to apologize for taking so long to post, but it has been a crazy fast move of God since the last posting in September.  God led us suddenly to Living Water Church.  Within the last 5 months, God has honored us by placing us in a position as Assistant Pastors.  In November, we began overseeing the youth, and the pastor here had to have a surgery that kept him out for a month and a half.  God very quickly showed His favor in our lives, and we were given a huge responsibility of making sure things were running at the church until the Pastor returned.  We have an amazing group of leaders surrounding us and helping us in our new role, and are thankful to them for being a blessing to us. Azariah

Along with that, we have had a growing Man of God to look after.  He is ever a joy and brings life to us in all things, even when he is getting into mischief.  We are training him up with a love for the nations, and he often asks to see the world.  We take that time to pray for revival and an increase of Holy Spirit and Fire to overwhelm the nations.

Now that the Pastor is back to full strength, things have settled down a bit, and I hope to be posting more often to keep you updated.  God recently opened the door for me to teach on Simple Discipleship.

Simple Discipleship

He gave me a discipleship plan not too long after returning from our around the world trip.  Finally, after a year and a half of waiting, I have been given the opportunity to teach this at the church.  I would encourage you to study through this with us.  I will be posting the weekly topic and verses to allow you to study them, and then about a week later, I will post the recording from my teaching at Living Water Church.  If you are hungry and wish to grow, use this as a study to be discipled and than to disciple others to do the same.

My intention in this study is to study the major topics of important by studying the scriptures directly.  I have tried to find between 3-5 short scripture references for us to learn together directly from the Word.  I want to teach in such a simple way over each area so that you are able to not only learn it, but you have the ability to teach it the very next day.  I have also tried to take scriptures out of the Old and New Testament to bring a totality of teaching on each subject.  Again, I encourage you to be a part of us growing together through what God is speaking.

My+Walk+through+the+Valley+of+the+Shadow+of+Death

The First Week’s topic is Being a Leader/Disciple.  The scriptures we will be focusing on are: John 13:1-17, John 14:12-14, Mark 8:34-38, Daniel 11:32-33, Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 14:25-35, Mark 10:28-31.

May the Lord bless you in all that you do and may much fruit abound in and around you, no matter where you may be in the world, because of your love and faithfulness to Him!!!

Designed For Destiny

Once again, Katie and I have launched out on a grand adventure.  This adventure includes a son and living in America without internet.  This may explain a little bit why we have not posted in a while.  I apologize for that.

Even now, our hearts are burning to step even more into the destiny that God has for all of us, including young Azariah.  What will this baby boy, my son, someday accomplish? No one dreams of mediocrity for themselves or for their children.  I declare that my son will do greater things than I, and this photo is a prophetic declaration of that!!!

Designed for Destiny

Designed for Destiny

I know that you too have a deep yearning to do something great. You dream and plan how you can become the greatest and walk in grand destiny.

From before you were born, God had already been planning to use you for life changing, world-shaking things (Eph 1:11-12)!!! He is the God who does exceedingly, abundantly above all that you ask for, hope for, or imagine according to His power working in you (Eph 3:20). The destiny of the Lord on YOUR life is so amazing that you would never believe it if He told you. The enemy comes in with all his deception, thievery, and destruction to cause you to settle for a mediocre existence of entertainment, pleasure, and passivity. The things He has for you seem fun, but are designed to distract and destroy the destiny you have been created to accomplish.

Do you want to settle for a mediocre existence or walk into your God-given destiny?

Read Jeremiah 1:4-10

Before Jeremiah was born, God had called him to be a prophet to entire nations, to build the Kingdom of God, and tear down the work of the enemy. Even though God was speaking to him, he was unsure of himself and gave an excuse, his age. God lovingly tells him not to believe the deception of the enemy, but to trust in what He says about him. God is the One who has called him, and He is the One who will completely equip him for his God-given destiny.

What deception is the enemy trying to use to keep you from your Destiny?

What excuses are you giving God that you are not able to do what He is calling you to do?

Challenge: Ask Holy Spirit to reveal any deception the enemy may be placing in your life. Ask for forgiveness for agreeing with the enemy and believing a lie. For every deception, get a leader or friend to help you find a verse in the Bible that replaces that lie with God’s perfect Truth. Declare the Truth of who God says you are and begin to walk in it!!!

Jeremiah, Man on Fire!!!

One Year Ago…

It has been one year since Katie and I returned from our amazing adventures, one year since Gibsons Go Global officially started. It seems like it was just yesterday, but at the same time it seems like a lifetime ago. No one could have prepared us for what God called us to do. It was definitely a learning process God was teaching us and training us along the way as He does with all of those who are walking in obedience.

In New York, we learned the importance of the one and the power of prayer. God sent us there for one person — my friend Zach and to pray for the city. Would God send us to the largest city in the US to minister to one person and pray??? Was anyone else in that city able to do what we did???

New York City skyline

When we arrived in Norway, our perception of what would happen was slightly different. We focused heavily on the one, Kjetil, and this led us to be able to minister to a small home group of six. Here, we learned the importance of spiritual heritage, and that we cannot sit back and wait for the enemy to attack. We must press forward in our Godly heritage as warriors to take back the land of the enemy that rightfully belongs to the Son who bought it with His sacrifice.

House Church Fun in Norway

The invitation to Scotland came out of nowhere, but God was ready to put us to work with Gary and Vanessa Irvine. Here, we learned that the light of God was shining all over the world and the importance of coming together in unity to accomplish the work of the Lord!!! We were able to see even more clearly, the global revival that God is positioning His people to carry out.

Praying at Stirling House of Prayer in Scotland

Already having several contacts in England, we quickly launched into many diverse ministries out of more than three different churches. Vicar Robert and Pastor Sam set us up to be able to minister in prison, on the streets, in churches, prophetic conferences, pastors meetings, pray for healings, and prayer walk the city. We also developed some key lifelong relationships and learned the value of creating family in foreign cultures.

Cell Group in Newcastle, England

Returning to Spain where we first started our courtship was amazing for a rest and reconnecting with each other and good friends like Pastor Alfredo, Danny, and Jose Maria. Even here, we learned how God was moving like a wind across the land bringing revival. We got the privilege of sharing words in several churches, groups, and youth in various settings.

Don Quixote in Madrid, Spain

An unexpected trip to Kosovo yielded some great time to rest and refresh and yet here, God was still teaching and molding us for things to come. We learned of the true power of forgiveness and restoration and the value of perseverance to see the fruit that God is bringing forth. We did less ministry here, but got the opportunity to encourage and pray for several missionaries and a local pastor Imir.

With friends in Kosovo

Our trip to India yielded the most visible fruit. Prakash hosted us and setup ministry and invited us to minister with other visiting teams. We returned to be with Pastor Daniel and teach a YWAM DTS as well as a gathering of pastors in his hometown. God even allowed us to travel to the far Northeast and meet Maremi and minister to the Miso people. God opened blind eyes, set people free, and healed and saved so many people.

Worship in northeast Aizawl, India

Preaching at a leper colony in Dharmapuri, India

It was difficult getting into Cambodia, but God had us here during the hottest season to speak to Both’s church and encourage the leaders at the YWAM base in Batambang. It was great returning here and being able to give back once again to the Khmer people and missionaries alike.

With Pastor Timothy and his wife in Battambang, Cambodia

Australia was our last foreign place to visit and here God was continuing to teach us and train for what was to come. We got to minister to a deeply spiritual people and speak truth to many who had strange spiritual concepts. We were able to minister with Kevin and YWAM Byron Bay as well as encourage some new friends in Brisbane before our trip home.

Serving the community of Byron Bay, Australia

Returning to the US, we did not stop ministering as we stopped in Hawaii to see old friends in YWAM and speak life to family near San Francisco. One year ago today, we finally returned home.

Friends in Kona, Hawaii

Family in California

Now, we are waiting. After so much teaching, training, and growing that God did in us, we are ready to spread the fire of revival even more. We have continued in every way that we can. Speaking to family, friends, churches, and even strangers about how awesome our God is. God has opened some doors, but we desire to be used so much more. Now, we are waiting, but definitely not idle. It is hard to be idle with an eight week old, but even now God is using him to open doors to minister.

We do not know what is next or what doors are opening to us as you may not either, and that is okay. I encourage you to be faithful to God and continue to use everything you have to serve Him. Give yourself completely to Him, grow in the waiting time, and He will do the work to propel you into all that He has for you!!!

The Promise That Bears New Life

The Lord has brought Jeremiah and I on a long journey this past year and a half since we got married. A journey that has forever marked us and set us on a path of no return, a wild and crazy adventure to be discovered. This odyssey brought along with it extreme stretching and growth, an increase in reliance on God, joy, tears, adventure, fun, excitement, hardships, and more than can be expressed in words on paper (or in a blog.) Because of our diligence and obedience, our loving and faithful Father has rewarded us on so many levels and has entrusted us to new and bigger things; the greatest of which is new life. Yes, that’s right, He has made us parents of the most wonderful blessing.

Our little blessing 🙂

Our little gift growing in my womb is the fulfillment of a promise God spoke to me while we were on our 9 month-long faith journey around the world. You see, before Jeremiah and I were married, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS. This means that small cysts form on the ovaries leading to hormonal imbalance. Often insulin resistance leading to diabetes is a result of that. PCOS is incurable and over time can affect a woman’s fertility greatly along with many other life altering consequences including developing uterine cancer, heart disease, atherosclerosis, stroke, etc. Being a woman who is called by God to be a mother, I could have let this greatly discourage me and affect the way I dealt with things, especially since this was the second chronic diagnosis I had received in my life. Instead of settling for what had been spoken over me, I refused and believed the Lord for my healing. Psalm 91:1-3 states, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.”

I felt that I was supposed to continue taking the medicine the doctor gave me when we left the U.S. I clearly heard the Lord speak to me while we were traveling that I was healed so I would petition Him to stop taking the meds, however each time He told me to continue taking them. At one point, He even told me that He gave me 7 months of the meds purposely and to finish them out, revealing to me that 7 is the number of completion and perfection. From then on, I waited on Him and held that word. We were in India the end of March when I took my last pill and had felt God leading me to pray and fast for myself, believing for my healing. That this would be when I would see my body work properly. During this special time with Him, He revealed to me the gender of our child and the name very clearly, confirming it many times.

Revelation.

Revelation.

I claimed that promise and kept it close to my heart, awaiting the day that it would come to fruition, for one of my deepest desires was to be a mother. I thought it would come quicker than it did, and I would become somewhat discouraged when it didn’t. I am so thankful for my Husband, for he encouraged me every time that God was revealing to me that I really was healed as I saw my body worked perfectly. God only made me wait 3 months to bring His promise about, and interestingly enough, a total of 10 months…perfection of divine order.

I found out I was pregnant when I got back from England in July and we have been more than blessed to see fruit coming forth from God’s promise. And boy, was it a joyful day having my 19 week sonogram revealing that just as He said about 8 months ago, we would be having a sweet baby boy, baby Azariah!!! 🙂 We are overflowing with joy for all that Daddy has in store for our little miracle, for He has already used our child to minister to many people from the womb. This adventure He has us on has only gotten more exciting and adventurous!  For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”  Isaiah 43:19
